CHAPTER 5

Karan's POV

"Aahana, get up princess." I was trying since last half an hour to wake this sleeping beauty but she wasn't ready to open her eyes. "Aahana we are getting late, please wake up doll."

"Daddy let me sleep. I couldn't sleep properly in the fligh." She replied and I looked at her in amusement. Another habit of Teju, she too loved sleeping till late in the morning.

"Baby all you did in the flight was to sleep, now get up fast." I said shaking her more but she didn't budge.

"Don't you want to meet everyone? Your mom, brother, dadi, Nani everyone. They are all waiting for you." And finally this little devil opened her eyes slowly and started rubbing them harshly.

"Aahana. Stop rubbing your eyes." I warned her taking her hands away from her eyes and she pouted. "Don't scold me na." She said cutely and I opened my arms for her, she jumped on me and I held her tightly.

"Good morning Princess." I wished her kissing her cheek and she happily returned the favour. "Good morning dad. Take me to meet everyone now." She demanded and I chuckled.

"Get ready first baby. We'll go there soon." I assured her and she gave a billion dollar smile in return which made my heart full. I was excited as well as equally scared to take her there. I know she was waiting since long for this day. I know she deserved to be here with them but due to my selfish reasons I took her away from all. I know she belongs here but this stupid heart was scared. Scared to lose the most important person of my life. What if Tejasswi doesn't allow me to take her back with me? What if Aahana decides to leave me and stay here with her mother? What if I never get a chance to spend time with her like we used to do till now?

"Daddy... Daddy. Let me go." She said and I came out of thoughts. "Huh?" I asked her and she looked at me with concern. "What happened? What were you thinking?"

"No. Nothing. I love you Aahana." I said running my hand in her hair and she hugged me tightly. "I love you more Daddy." She replied and I closed my eyes, hearing the most beautiful words by the princess.

"Let me go now. I need to get ready." She said in a voice full of excitement and I put her down.

I already got ready before waking her up as I knew madam would take a lot of time and everyone was waiting impatiently over there, specially her mom. They all were so adamant to meet her in the hospital itself.

I talked to the doctor last night about dad and he said they will keep him under observation for 3-4 days and then we can take him home. A nurse will be appointed by the hospital to take care of him for a month or two.

I met everyone yesterday but I didn't get a chance to talk to him or to see him. I did not even have a slightest idea about how he would react after seeing me here after such a long time.
Suddenly I remembered that I didn't talk to anyone since morning, so I decided to call Om and asked him about the situation over there.

"Hello Omi. How's the situation over there? Did dad wake up? How's mom? Did she go home or not? And what about Aryan? Where is he? And Teju..
I bombarded him with lots of questions.

"Relax Karan bhai. Uncle is taking rest and yes aunty went home in the morning after you and Aryan and Teja are at home only. Right now I'm here in the hospital with Prateek." He gave me all the details and I sighed.

"Oh. Okay. I'll leave within an hour. Aahana is getting ready." I told him. But I couldn't just stop myself there, I needed someone to share whatever was going inside me. The inner turmoil was making me weak and nervous at the same time. My heart needed an assurance from someone and nobody could give it better than him.
