"You guys are all an absolute blessing, I'll see you tomorrow!"
Sam said waving us all off. I decided she had turned into a sumwhat big sister to me, which was amazing considering I'd always wanted one. Slowly turning away her orange tinted hair gently brushed one of her shoulders."Oh, Pen!"
She called me back. I waited as she walked over."Noah told me he's going to be getting you back into riding?"
Ah yes... That's the thing I forgot to worry about. I pulled a nervous smile and ruffled my blonde hair.
"Yeah well... Hopefully, that's if I'm not gonna freak out like yesterday."
I'm not gonna lie, it was quite embarrassing. I had a whole audience of people who thought I was this amazing rider when in reality I was a scared little 16 year old.
"You will be fine! You're in safe hands... Noah knows what it's like, trust me."
Sam reassuringly placed her olive tanned hand on my back then let me go as I grinned back at her, trying to hide the fear that haunted me for a year.
"Now, go make some dinner! I'm sure you guys are starving by now!"
I waved one last time then turned back to see Noah, still standing there waiting for me, the golden tint of the sun shinning perfectly on the right side of his face. Abbey and Alex however were already walking off, avoiding the clouds which were begging to cry.
"Wait!! Photo opportunity!"
I got out my phone and took a few pictures while he stood trying his best 'not looking laughing in the distance' look, the shutter of my iPhone camera indicating when he should pose differently. It always made me giggle when people did that.
"Perfection! Merci."
I said smiling at my phone to look down at the photos, which may I say weren't that bad. As I continued to analyse them Noah looked over my shoulder and I felt his breath on my skin, which was comforting to say the least. He smelt very fresh, confusing considering we were just at a stable. Anything was better than men's cologne though, I swear it was more of a woman deterrent than an attracter.
"You know you should really consider a career in photography... Like genuinely."
I tilted my head, was that a complement for himself or for me?
"Sooo... Are you saying you look good or it's a good photo or?..."
He playfully nudged me as we started to walk back, slightly brushing the side of my hand as he did.
The birds tweeted in unison to the pattering of the light rain. It wasn't bad rain though, it was the type of rain you get on an almost clear night, the type of rain you only noticed if you were outside experiencing it for yourself. Noah decided to run up and down the road, the souls of his shoes soaking with water from the translucent puddles, shouting like some maniac who didn't care about embarrassment. He held out his hand to invite me to join him, and looking down at them there were trails of bruises up his arm. Instead of questioning it I took it and he began running to then kneel down like a gentleman as if to ask me to dance.
"M'lady?"
The corners of my mouth raised as I did an exadurating bow, pretending as if there was a long silk dress wrapped around my body like they had in the balls on TV. This was probably the best feeling I'd ever had, it was as if it belonged in a book, or perhaps a movie like the Princess Diaries. Noah spun me around multiple times, the blue of his eyes being brought out even more by the last few minutes of the sun. We then decided to do a 10 second waltz, and at this point the rain was basically screaming as the clouds over our head gave us a full shower, both our hairs were a shade darker than usual because of it but his still managed to look perfect.
