"Ano!" Leni exclaimed, shocked by what Allan, the debt collector, had just said.
"Bingi ka ba, Gerona? Si Mr. Marcos, he paid all your loans. Ngayon, sa kanya mo na babayaran lahat ng utang mo," Allan uttered, looking at the money in his hand that Marcos had given him.
"Bakit ka pumayag!" she shouted. All her life, she had wanted to avoid him because of what had happened between them in the past.
"Ano bang kinagagalit mo? Dapat magpasalamat ka sa kanya at nakaalis ka pa dito!"
"Hindi mo alam kung ano yung pwede niyang gawin, Allan. B-bakit sa kanya pa?"
He walked towards her and said, "It's all for the money, Gerona! Malaki at may sobra pa kaya napapayag ako." He leaned in and whispered, "Bago ko makalimutan... tanungin mo siya kung sino ang may kasalanan kung bakit nagbabayad ka ng ganito kalaking pera."
"A-ano?"
He adjusted his clothes and muttered, "Tanungin mo siya para malaman mo." Then he left, leaving Leni dumbfounded, trying to grasp the meaning of his words.
It was almost 10 PM when she decided to go to the Marcos Corporation building.
"Kung magpapakamatay ka, 'wag mo kong idamay!" the driver shouted at her.
She wasn't in her right mind as she walked, Allan's words continually echoing in her head.
She continued walking, exhausted and empty, until she leaned against a wall. Her tears finally escaped from her brown eyes as she began to understand what Allan wanted to tell her.
"P-paano niya nagawa yun?" She couldn't believe Bong would do something like that.
She wiped away her tears and started running to his building, her mind racing with anger and betrayal. When she reached the entrance of the Marcos Corporation, she took a deep breath, steeling herself for what was to come. Her eyes burned with determination as she pushed through the revolving doors and strode into the sleek, modern lobby.
"Baka nagkakamali po kayo, ma'am," the receptionist said, looking up from her desk when Leni asked where Bongbong Marcos was.
Leni shot the receptionist a sharp glare. "Sabihin mo nandito si Gerona."
"Ma'am, sorry, kailangan niyo po ng schedule—" the receptionist began, her voice faltering under Leni's intense gaze.
"You can go, ma'am," another receptionist interjected smoothly, stepping forward with an air of authority. "Please, follow me," she said, guiding Leni through the corridors of the opulent building.
As they walked, Leni's heart pounded in her chest, each step echoing her resolve. She passed by employees who glanced curiously at her, sensing the tension and urgency in her demeanor. The walls were lined with expensive art and the floors gleamed under the soft lighting, but none of it registered in Leni's mind. She was focused solely on the confrontation ahead.
Finally, they arrived at a large, imposing door. The receptionist opened it and gestured for Leni to enter. "Mr. Marcos is inside. You may go in."
Leni squared her shoulders and stepped into the room, her eyes immediately locking onto Bong. He sat in a black suit, looking relaxed and confident, his legs crossed as he sipped a glass of tequila on a mini sofa.
"Nice seeing you again, Gerona," he said, emphasizing her last name with a smirk.
"What are you thinking? Bakit mo ginawa yun, ha!" she raged, her voice trembling with barely contained fury. Her fists clenched at her sides as she glared at him, unable to control the storm of emotions inside her.
Bong looked her up and down with a cold, calculating gaze and muttered, "Saan sa dalawa?" He stood up slowly, a sinister smirk playing on his lips as he took deliberate steps towards her.
He leaned in close, his breath hot against her ear as he whispered, "Dun sa utang mo o dun sa tatay mo?"
The impact of his words hit her. Her tears flowed freely as the realization sunk in. "Totoo nga na ikaw yung may kasalanan kung bakit nalulong sa sugal yung tatay ko? P-paano mo nasikmurang makita kong nahihirapan!" She screamed, her voice breaking with anguish, and she pounded her fists against his chest, her anger and pain driving each blow.
Bong's smirk widened as he effortlessly grabbed her wrists, stopping her. "Ang dali mo pa rin maniwala kahit wala kang ebidensya, Gerona!" he sneered, his eyes glittering with malice. He released her hands and walked away, his posture relaxed, as if her outburst had been nothing more than a minor inconvenience.
She stood there, her chest heaving with emotion, feeling a mix of helplessness and rage as she watched him retreat. The room seemed to close in around her, the weight of his words pressing down on her shoulders.
Bong sat back in his chair and grabbed his glass, swirling the amber liquid before taking a sip. "Every end of the month, exactly 8 PM, dapat nandito ka na sa office ko. Kailangan mong makapagbigay ng sampung libo, walang labis, walang kulang. Kung hindi mo masusunod kahit isa sa sinabi ko, be ready to widen your lips and suck my dick," he said with a cruel smirk.
"Bakit ko naman gagawin yun, ha!?" Leni demanded, her voice cracking as she wiped away the tears from her cheeks, her eyes blazing with anger and humiliation.
"Baka nakakalimutan mong sa'kin mo na babayaran yung utang mo," he replied coldly, leaning back and taking another leisurely sip of his drink.
"Paano kung hindi ko bayaran?" she challenged, her voice trembling but defiant.
"It seems you like to be a prisoner." He stood up, setting his glass down with a deliberate clink, and walked towards her with slow, menacing steps. He immediately grabbed her waist, pulling her close. "Hmmm, meron pang ibang paraan." He leaned in, his lips brushing her ear as he whispered, "Spread your legs, Leonor."
Disgust and rage fueled her strength as she pushed him away with all her might. "Over my dead body, Marcos!" she spat, her voice filled with venom.
He laughed sarcastically, a dark, hollow sound. "Talaga? Then ten thousand is not enough for me. Twenty—twenty thousand, Gerona, every month," he said, his tone dripping with mockery.
"Why should I pay that? Sa debt collector ako may—"
He cut her off sharply, stepping closer, his face inches from hers. "Tingin ko naman mabubuhay ka sa loob ng kulungan. Hindi ko lang alam kung kaya ng kapatid mo mabuhay mag-isa dito," he said, his eyes glinting with a sadistic pleasure.
"Huwag mong idamay yung kapatid ko!" Leni shouted, her voice breaking with desperation and fear for her sibling.
"Then pay your debt or spread wide your legs," he said, his eyes locked onto hers with a predatory gleam, his voice low and threatening.
He pushed bong, "I will pay my debt and never spread my legs for you," Leni snapped, her voice steely with determination and resolve before storming out, leaving Bong smirking behind her, his expression one of dark satisfaction.
"Tignan natin kung hanggang saan ka aabot, Gerona," he muttered to himself, a sinister promise lingering in the air as he watched her leave.
