THE chestnut haired teenager groaned in despair as she spun around on her office-like chair as she clawed at her locks like a hawk attacking it's pray. Her other spare hand gripped her mobile phone, putting so much pressure on her knuckles making them go beet red.

"Are you serious!? Why won't they let us in?!" She spat the words out like venom as her fists kept tightening and tightening. A muffled voice came from the other end of her phone as she nodded to the females words. "So your saying they think we're too 'hard-core' for them?" The muffled sound seemed to go on and on as the girl listened closely. "Okay then. I guess we'll have to look for another place to perform." She gazed at her electrifying blue guitar hanging from her wall like a trophy, and put the phone down sighing in dismay.

The teen looked outside her iced window as it started to snow yet again, there was no spot of blue to be seen in the sky. She fiddled with her necklaces as she sighed yet again. "Another cold and frosty day. . ." She seemed to have calmed down slightly as her knuckles had released its grip and her face now back to being porcelain, her hair still a mess as always.

All of a sudden her grey door swung open without a single knock and Don arose into the room. "Hey Nancy! Your dads here." His smooth voice was too chirpy and gleeful for her taste as her lip quivered up in disgust.

"Geez, open the door would you? Do you even know how to knock or is that too good for you?" Nancy always had hated Don, never even bothering to call him dad. She hated how self-absorbed he was and how selfish he can be from time to time, not even caring about her or the rest of her family, just his tedious business.

The workaholic man ignored the girl's comeback as he just simply pursed his lips and continued down the hall. Nancy rolled her eyes and made her way into the kitchen where her real father was supposedly waiting for her and Nick.

When she got there she saw that Nicky was already with their dad, laughing and joking with him. Nancy managed a small smile, trying not to let her jealousy creep out and overtake her like a wild animal. The green eyed teen had always disliked the way her dad treated Nicky like the favourite child, even though she knew he loved them both equally. He'd always wished for a boy anyways.

"Hey Nance! Ready to watch your brother carve it up?" Nance looked up, shaking herself from her obsessive thoughts.

She nodded with a little smirk. "Yes, can't wait." Her voiced sounded a tad sarcastic, but that's how she always sounded, and she still wasn't very pleased with her band 'Sealed With A Kiss', or if you'd prefer 'SWAK', being rejected for the fifth time. They only ever had one gig, and that was at her best friends Tina's grandma's care home. And lets just say they didn't make it to about the third song.

Nancy's little brother Nick grinned widely as he stood by her and held her massive hand compared to his small ones. "Yay! Lets go sis!" The sister beamed at Nicky as she led him out the apartment, Larry trailing behind.

"Come on Nicky! You can take him!" Nancy's father yelled as he pointed at the poor lad in question, then pumping his fists up in the air in celebration as they scored yet another goal.

Nancy clapped and cheered as she put her hands around her mouth to project her slightly gruff voice due to the low temperature. "Yes Nicky! Kick him while your at it, show him what you go-!" Before she could finish her amazing advice Larry shoved her slightly, causing her to frown and narrow her eyes at her old man. "Hey!"
