𝐓𝐇𝐄 brunettes soon found themselves down in the lower level of the building, standing outside of a wooden door in a dark and dimly lit hallway, feeling even more freezing there then outside in the snow. Nance patiently waited for her father Larry to knock, while he also did the same.

"You going to knock or what?" The bright eyed girl muttered as she gestured to the door, rolling her eyes slightly at her annoying yet loveable father.

The man in question looked around awkwardly and started to fumble with his jacket. "Yeah I am- just give me a minute. . ." You could obviously tell he was very nervous, but the teen couldn't blame him seeming as all his other job interviews went horribly wrong, and when they did go right it was such a blessing, even a miracle.

The pale girl was starting to get somewhat impatient with her dad so she knocked the door hard and agitated. "See was it that h-"

Nancy got interrupted suddenly by a silver white haired man that looked very old, though Nancy would never want to say that to him, who had lots of wrinkles but still looked quite good for his old age. "Hello? Oh, ho, ho, ho. . ." It seemed like the man was trying to be mysterious and creepy, and the two just awkwardly laughed at him. He then waved it off and spoke with a raspy voice. "I'm just kidding."

The daughter and father duo glanced at each other with a disturbed expression as they introduced themselves. "Hi. Uh- I'm Larry Daley."

"And I'm his best daughter ever Nancy Daley." Nance butted in as she beamed up at the elderly person. Nancy continued keeping the conversation going. "Are you Mr. Fredericks?"

Laughing again, the two were still trying to find out what was so funny with this man, as it soon died down and he replied with an almost obvious tone. "Mr. Fredericks was my father. I am Cecil." The two 'oh'ed' as they nodded at him. "Good to meet you Larry, and Nancy. Nice, firm handshake." The compliment was directed to her father as he then glowed at the compliment, Nancy giggling timidly. "We'll come on in you pair."

The pair cautiously stepped into the office which seemed to Nancy more like a dusty old basement, maybe being even older then Cecil. Nance grimaced at the dust and cobwebs and she slightly shivered, goosebumps forming on her bare arms.

Cecil cleared his throat as he said, "The museum is losing money. I guess kids today don't care about wax figures or stuffed animals. So they're downsizing, which is code for 'firing' myself. . . and the other two night guards." Nance couldn't help but feel back for the previous guards as she showed a slightly sympathetic look, which was hard for Nance to accomplish.

Larry finally spoke up. "Oh, I'm so sorry." The make brunette frowned as he offered some comfort to Cecil.

Abruptly, two new faces came from the side door, the two also seeming to be elderly males, one looked stocky and very grumpy, while the other was tall and looked liked a gentle soul. Cecil noticed them and beckoned them over. "I'd like you to meet my, uh, two colleagues here. Reginald and Gus." Gus seemed to be eyeing up Nance's dad as she raised a suspicious brow at him, observing the man. "Gus this is Larry Daley and Nancy Daley, the kids who want to be the new night guards." Cecil spoke cheerfully indicating to the pair in front of him.

Larry and Nancy looked at each other with surprise as they seemed taken aback and shocked. Nance stumbled on her words as she raised a hand in surprise, "wait- no, no, no. You got it all wrong." She chuckled slightly as her face turned down. Nobody said anything about a night guard position?
