"Ughh!! I can't believe it" Gwen started to yell from the other room. It was  8:30 am in the morning! What could have been so bad that she was this loud? After a few seconds, I could hear more yelling but this time it was mostly just muffled cursing. I tossed and turned, putting a pillow over my head.  I couldn't help but worry when I could hear her banging her head on the kitchen table as she groaned.

Gwen and I moved in with each other about a year ago when we graduated high school. We've known each other since kindergarten, even our moms are best friends so it's natural that we would be too. I quickly got up from my bed and headed towards the kitchen with a tired groan. I stopped at the doorway when I saw her clearly pissed off face as she screamed at her phone.

"What happened to you?" Gwen picked up her head from her phone and turned her head to look at me. "Karma is a bitch! That's what's happening to me!" Gwen yelled as she threw her hands up into the air. I'm not sure why but I had the sudden urge to laugh at the fact that Gwen, my best friend since kindergarten, is yelling about karma. She has always believed in that kinda stuff, like tarot cards and bad luck. But for some reason, she never believed in karma, or never really cared that is.

"What happened this time?" I said as I took a seat at one of our stools at the table. After a few seconds of Gwen walking back and forth, she finally settled down and leaned against the counter. "I was making fun of Heather the other day, y'know for getting all worked up over a stupid boy band." Gwen made a disgusted face as she said the words "boy band" as if it was so bad she was going to throw up. I chuckled as I remembered Heather several K-pop posters hidden inside her closet. She swore that they weren't hers at first but after they covered every wall, it became kinda obvious.

"Well now that MY favorite band is in town, SUDDENLY the tickets cost so much and I'm FREAKING OUT!" I bursted out laughing after that and I couldn't stop as hard as I tried. I thought for a second before remembering that I was actually have an interview today for a job. Nothing special but I was lucky enough to get it.

Gwen recently got fired from the petting zoo a while ago so she started working at a near by witch store. I'm pretty sure they sell bones and crystals but I'm honestly a little scared to walk in. But ever since the restaurant I was working at closed, she has been trying to get me to apply to the coffee shop next door. I gave in after a while and I applied for the job a week ago but I didn't hear anything for a little while. Turns out, I was lucky enough to get a call a few days ago and they set up an interview. I quickly checked the time on my phone and it had just turned 9:00 am and- OH MY GOD!

"DANGIT GWEN WHY DIDNT YOU WAKE ME UP??" Gwen lifted her eyes up from her phone as she gave me an annoyed start as I ran back into the bathroom. My interview was at 10 o'clock and I'm not even dressed!! "I tried, you didn't budge." Gwen said as she leaned against the bathroom door as I brushed my teeth and combed my hair. I quickly spat out the toothpaste and washed out my mouth before speeding past her into my room. I dug through my pile of clean laundry still on the laundry basket, completely unfolded.

"I swore I had an alarm! Did I sleep through it? Again!" I yelled as I tossed a clean shirt over my head only to take it off immediately and toss it on the floor next to me. I pulled on a clean pair of pants and dug through my laundry again. This time pulling out a clean cream colored shirt and a baby blue jacket. I tossed them both on as Gwen collapsed on my bed. She tossed me a pair of socks that were on my bed. I struggled to put them on as I grabbed my sneakers as ran out the door into the kitchen.
