"What's that noise?" I got out of my agonizing bed and walked down the frightening hallway toward the baby's room. I was scared and running there as fast as I can. We all heard a rumour that the hallways were haunted, and that the former owner collapsed right on the stairs, which is close to our rooms. It's 6:58 AM, and the baby has to wake up at 7:00 AM, in order to do what we always do every day: go to the local daycare and volunteer there. I heard eerie sounds coming from the walls.
"Listen, whoever is speaking, I'm not scared of you. I just want today to go nice and perfect, SO BE QUIET PLEASE!" I half-whispered, half-spoke with a tiny quiver of fear in my voice. I went to get the baby ready for daycare, but I knew this was going to be a hassle, so I made sure she was ready before getting ready myself.
"MOM! IT'S TIME TO GO!" I said.
"You yell a lot, you know?" Mom replied.
"I DO NOT!"
"Wellll, you just did" she said, in a matter-of-factly tone.
"Oh..." I don't yell, I just need to get my point straight. Behind that. Wait a minute.... Did I forget something? Dishes, clothes, got Elmo out of the toilet......."THE BABY!" How could I be so irresponsible?! I ran like I had no time in the world to get my baby sister. I was so relieved to see she was safe. Her behavior isn't the calmest, since she's autistic. I'm always worried for her. Wait. You don't know my name, do you? Well, this is awkward...... Oh! My name is Miriam, Miriam Louise Swifter. This is my baby sister, Marci Lynn. We have an unbreakable bond that will last forever. We have to little bunnies called Cleif and Bamboo. I made sure I fed them before I even decided to get dressed.
"MIRIAM!" Mom said.
"Coming, mother! I'm just about ready!" I replied. Mom HATES it when I call her that, so I decide to give it a try. "You ready to go to the daycare, little Marci?" I asked Marci.
"YE!", Marci replied happily, enthusiastically, and cheerfully. Oh, does Little Mar-Mar like anything! Well, not everything, of course. She's just cheerful about plenty of things, especially animals, messing with our hair, and Greek Yogurt.
"Bye bun-buns!" Marci said. That's what she calls bunnies.
"MIRIAM! PLEASE GET INTO THE CAR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! WE HAVE TO LEAVE IN 2 MINUTES, AND IF WE LEAVE LATER, THE KIDS AT DAYCARE WILL WONDER WHERE YOU'VE GONE! AND DON'T CALL ME MOTHER!"
"Oh KAY, mother! I'm heading down right now!"
I picked up Marci and rushed down the stairs, through the kitchen, through the living room, and into the garage.
