{3rd POV}

Doug groaned as he was starting to regain his consciousness, as because he was now in a lot of pain.. he was then dropped to the ground, and he could see a familiar figure infront of him, he soon realized that the figure was Malak. Doug tensed up, but he was unable to do anything because he was still in pain from the beatening that the Joy Joy Gang gave to him.. "Ah! Now you're finally awake mortal.." Malak said, "Bierce can't interfere now." Malak continued, Doug turned his head around.. he noticed that he was around what looked to be a forest or woods.

There was a cabin nearby, it looked pretty old, "Look around. Do you even know where you truly are?" Malak asked, "W- what is this place? Where am I?" Doug asked, his tone sounded a bit weak and nervous, "You mortals always believed the existence of heaven and hell. It's a rather quaint and amusing concept." Malak said, "In truth, there is a dark dimension. All evil souls gather there and wage to become the ultimate evil, this place and my realm are a part of it. You've been meddling in my affairs all this time, but I am no ordinary demon." Malak said, Doug stayed silent for a bit before he thought of another question..

Doug was still in pain and he can't do much of anything without feeling a lot of pain.. so he needs to play this cool.. "What are you planning to do to me?" Doug asked, he wanted to sit up straight, but he didn't dare move because he knew better that it would cause sudden pain everywhere. Doug stared back at the demon above him, there was silence between the two.. it didn't really last that long, "Ah, remember before when I warned you in the beginning? That Bierce was only using you? Well.. I've wanted her to pay what is owe, and considering that she has you doing everything for her. You're going to help me take down Bierce." Malak said, Doug's eyes widened.

It didn't take too long for him to reply, "No..! I won't. I won't help you at all!" Doug shouted at the demon, "Oh but you will. I marked you as mine Doug." Malak said, "There's no use. Bierce could care less about you meat sack, just like all the others that couldn't make it all the way. You're not the first mortal to come here. The last person that trusted Bierce had their fate caught up with them. Most mortals always end up reaching their fate... in a tragedy and pathetic ways." Malak said, Doug began to think back on the question that Malak asked Bierce about the last person that came here before him.

Bierce did act oddly suspicious, now that Doug is really thinking about it, when he did collect the first ring piece, Bierce seemed almost desperate for the ring.. "Over countless millenia. I have grown my army and my power with the rivals that I have vanquished and the mortal souls that I have aquired. You could say business has been booming. Bierce was one of those souls, she never told you her story did she?" Malak asked, "No.. she never really told me anything other than the riddle of heaven and-" Doug was interrupted by Malak, "Well of course she would. She's using you, she uses every mortal that comes to her." Malak said, "A century ago Bierce offered her soul to me. She wanted to be a movie star. A trite request but I agreed nonetheless. I just required a tribute from her first, a small offering." Malak said then he chuckled.

Before then he explained even further, "I gave Bierce what she wanted, but when I came to collect, she decided to get cute. She thought she could get out of her contract by using that accursed ring. However I didn't become an elite by letting my guard down, her little ambush failed, I shattered the ring and took the pieces, but it wasn't enough, one of the pieces formed a bond with Bierce's soul. She used that to seal herself into that annoying little pocket dimension, as if that cage could keep me out forever.." Malak explained, Doug was processing Malak's words.

As Doug now knew some of history between Bierce and Malak, 'There was others before me? Then what happened to them?' Doug thought, he could guess that they suffered something much worse than death, maybe they were tortured by Malak and his creatures.. he was snapped out of his thoughts when Malak spoke, "In this place, having your power and ring pieces stolen by mortals is not a good look. You four made me look weak and vulnerable. That's bad for business.. now it's time to pay the price." Malak said then he stood up straight, "Wait! What's gonna happen to me?" Doug asked, "Oh that, since I've marked you. You're our slave Doug. A slave to me and the other monsters. We have to prepare this execution for the detective mortal but I have other plans for the other one.. Don't think I haven't forgotten about your friends." Malak said as he then turned to the cabin, "That's enough chit-chat now. She's ready now." Malak said, the door to the cabin then opened.
