Mike's POV

There was a knock on the door and Carrie sat up looking at me seriously. "Its your mom." I said causing her to stand up. I didn't even try to stop her . I knew if I did she'd only become more upset. I stood up and went to answer the door as Carrie walked upstairs.

"Hey Mike." Carol said hugging me when I opened the front door. "How are you?" Carol asked as we both walked inside.

"Hanging in there." I replied.

"What about Carrie?" She said sitting on the couch beside me.

"She hasn't talked to anyone...only me." I said causing Carol to sigh. "She said your going to be disappointed in her...she hasn't stop blaming herself." I added with a small sigh.

"I had expected her to...I just wished she'd talk to me." Carol confessed looking disappointed.

"I'll see if I can get her to come down." I said standing up off the couch then making my way up the stairs. I was nervous. Which was insane but it was true. I didn't want Carrie to get upset. Which I knew would probably happen. But she needs to talk to her mom, I actually think that it'd just be best for Carrie. Her mom usually calms her down a bit, and helps her look at things from a different point of view which I think Carrie needs that.

"Hey Care..." I said knocking on the bedroom door before entering.

"Please don't even ask me to go talk to her." Carrie said as I sat on the bed beside her.

"Carrie she's upset...she just wants to talk to you." I replied looking at her seriously.

"But Mike I don't want to talk to her." Carrie confessed with a sigh a small tear falling from her eye. This was the last thing that I wanted. I didn't want Carrie to become upset or cry or anything shes done enough of that over the past few days.

"Baby she isn't disappointed in you at all...she knows that it's not your fault, I don't know why you don't." I said looking into her eyes. "Your mother loves you so so much...she is not disappointed in you at all. Babe you just need to talk to her alright?" I said holding both of Carrie's hands. "Do you want me to go with you?" I asked with a small sigh.

"Promise me that you won't leave me in there by myself." Carrie said a small tear falling from her eye.

"Baby I promise..." I said gently wiping away the tear. "I love you." I added as we both stood up.

"I love you too Mike." Carrie replied as I wrapped my arms around her hugging her tightly. I held Carrie's hand tightly as the two of us walked down the stairs. I could tell she was upset. Very vulnerable right now, which is completely understandable. I am too. We both are we just lost a child. I wanted Carol and Carrie to talk alone, I figured it'd be best although I promised Carrie I wouldn't leave.

"Honey..." Carol sighed rushing over to Carrie quickly hugging her. Carrie didn't hug her back she kinda just stood there. "Do you want to talk about it?" Carol asked with a small sigh.

"Talk about what?" Carrie responded as we all sat down.

"Honey you-"

"Please stop calling me that." Carrie cut her off. "I am not a kid." Carrie added standing up off the couch.

"Carrie Marie look at me." Carol said catching me off guard. "I didn't just fly all the way out here for you to just ignore me Carrie...I understand that you are hurt but that is why I came...to help you." Carol said becoming upset.

"Have you ever just thought that maybe I don't want your help?" Carrie yelled before hurrying upstairs.
