Our Love Thing

Chapter 25 : Rome

Just a year ago, I was just looking for that love I was hoping that I would have. Then I have found it, loved it, enjoyed it, then it vanished again. Maybe if all of this never happened you know... meeting Wanda and Polaris, learning about the pasts lives and deity and all of that. Maybe my normal life wouldn't be like this.

I was walking out of the market looking for some fruits for me to eat, some various apples, strawberries, melons, rose hips and some pomegranate.

"How can I help you, Signorina?" a familiar Italian man says as he gestures to his fresh looking fruit at his stand.

"Oh Mr. Ricci, Ciao! I would like to gather some strawberries and pomegranates, Signore." I said as he just nods and began to pick some for me and putting it in a container.

"Are you here for a business meeting, Miss Y/L/N?" the man say

"Ahm no... actually.. well yeah you can say it like that." I replied while nodding.

"Well! Buona fortuna, Signorina!"

"Mille grazie, Signore."

Paying him ten euro for all of them as I made my way to my families house just few blocks away from the market.

Walking alongside with some bystanders, as I am looking through the people also buying and selling fruits. I felt a vibration on my pocket, reaching for it. It was the piece of the plastic thing that Polaris gave to me that I have no idea what is, or how to use.

Suddenly a figure of Polaris appeared standing on top of the plastic thing like a hologram or something.

"Ah!" I yelp as I three the thing away from me, making the people around me look at my direction.

"Mi dispiace." I said then picking up the weird but cool thing and stash it on my back pocket and hurry home bumping with some people at the process.

Arriving at my families house I place down my beret and putting the fruits on my fruit bowl after I was them. I go to the living room and reach out for the small plastic cool thing, it looks like something that one of my fathers partners inventions or things like that.

"I wouldn't mind being against your behind all the time, Agapi mou." suddenly Polaris miniture body appears again at the top of the plastic screen.

"Polaris, you better have some explanations of why did you just vanished again?!" ignoring the statement she said.

"Well let's just say that I had to deal with some of my own pursuer." she said as my face turn a worry expression.

"Nothing to worry about though. Are you in Rome?"

"I am, but I'm confused. Why Rome? Am I here to fetch the Pope for our mission?" I said making her chuckle

"Definitely not. This is very much the opposite of what he deals with. Rome is... not what it seems."

Everything about this world isn't what it seems to me when her and Wanda came into my life. So what's to be surprised of? But I am still curious.

"In what way?"

"It is a portal to the underworld."

Welp, there it is.

"That makes sense. Rome's always had a mystic vibe." I replies as she sends me a nod and a smile.

"Well, Rome is actually a portal to both good and evil, but in going to the underworld, you are going to face one of those."

"Good, right?"

"You're much funnier than I remember." she said making my face falls in expression.

"Unfortunately no, Agapi mou. We'll be facing a great evil."
