The Change

chapter 4

I wake up but I realized jadis wasn't sleep

She was on the other side of the bed just sitting up

I crawled over to her

I touch her and just wrap my arms around her

Joseline:what's wrong

Jadis:nothing

Back to jadis pov:

She asks me what's wrong

I tell her nothing even though something is wrong

I just don't know what it is

Jadis: I'm gonna go make breakfast

Joseline:ok

I go downstairs to cook the both of us some food then I see my mom

Mom: that girl still down there jadis?

I just ignore her

Mom:jadis I'm talking to you

I get out the utensils to cook with and I get the ingredients and others out the fridge and the cabinet

She walks over to me

Mom:jadis I'm talking to you

I put the stuff down and look up

Then I slowly look at her

Jadis: what could you possibly want early in the morning from me

Mom: I was just asking a question

Jadis:yes she's down there what more could you want

Mom:why are you so angry all the time

Jadis: why are you so drunk all the time

She just sits there quiet

I continue to do what I was doing

Mom: you don't have to be so mean you know

Jadis: well if you tried to be a better mom to me instead of worrying Abt your dipshit boyfriend and getting drunk all the time maybe I could open up to you

Mom: Im trying jadis

Jadis: well you're not trying enough clearly you aren't trying to stop the bad things you are doing

Mom: I am trying

Jadis:if you say so

I make the pancake batter and put it on the pan to fry

And then I get out another pan to cook the bacon with and another with the eggs

I flip the bacon over

The pan for the pancakes is big so I have about three pancakes on there

I stir the eggs until they're done

I take the eggs out and put the into a bowl same as the bacon

I finish with the other food then I put sausages on and boil grits

After I'm done I fix a plate for me and Joseline

Jadis:theres food on the stove.

Mom:ok

I walk down stairs

I open the door to her watching TV

I give her the food

Joseline:oooouu this looks good

It's a mini fridge over there if you wanted something to drink

Joseline: okay
