Bound between this life and the next

"Hanako...What is this?" Y/n asked curiously. I looked at the last minute and exclaimed, "Y/n wait!-" she was holding the mermaids scales that I had in my pocket. Turns out she pulled it out. And then she ate one of the scales... Just like Yashiro. "Y/n!" I shouted. But I can't really blame her. she didn't know what it was. "What are these things! Explain Hanako!" Y/n states.

"Okay okay I will!" I said shivering. "The thing that you just put in your mouth was a mermaid scale. It is from the magical being of a mermaid. Those whom consume the mermaid scale with another being, is bond between this life and the next-" I get cut off by the sight of y/n swallowing the scale. I panicked. "Y/n! You didn't let me finish and now you swallowed the mermaid scale?!" I exclaimed.

"I told you didn't I... I want a friend. I want a real one. Yea we've tried but- it didn't work out. I would have done anything to get a best friend... And now I consumed this scale. But no one else to have a bond with. Because no one didn't swallow one with me." Y/n said softly. I sigh and I finish my sentence. "But... There is a price. A curse. But~" I pause. "I didn't eat the scale." I said. "What's your point?" Y/n asked. "So you said that you wanted a best friend right? So... I will eat one too!" I say proudly

I swallow one whole. Y/n just looks into my eyes while I look into her e/c eyes. I see her blush. Then y/n falls to the ground. She looks at her legs and it looks like she is turning into a half fish and half human. A mermaid. Her eyes were wide open and she turned her head over to me. "Hanako. What's happening?" Y/n askes me. "Right. I forgot... You turn into a fish... That's the curse if you eat the mermaid scale." I confirm. "Well that's great." Y/n said sarcastically.

"I mean, I can turn you into a human again. There is just a price at the end of course." I explain. This actually reminds me of when Yashiro turned into a fish. Heh... History repeats itself. "Yes please. I want to be human again!" Y/n yells. "Okay! Here we go..... Oh, by the way. How often do you use your body?" I question. Y/n starts to go red. I chuckled and snapped my fingers.

Y/n turns back into a human. She sits down on the window ledge."And also. Whenever you touch water with your hands. You turn into a mermaid. Be very careful though." I explained. Y/n nodded. I handed my hand to her and she took it. She stood up. I interlocked my hands between her hands. I came close to her face. "You and I are now linked across the border between this life and the next. As for the price... I want an assistant!" I say proudly. "Wait what?!" Y/n shouted. "To help me clean the bathrooms!" I said. "B-b-but, y-you said-" y/n stutters. "Oh y/n. You are so gullible." I laughed. "I asked how often do you use your body. This is what I mean. What did you think I meant~" I joked. Y/n's cheeks became a red hue. She was angry with me. "Hanako! You are so dirty!" She yelled. I laughed and teased her for the rest of the day.
