This story prompt can be for a young adult or children's book. Feel free to develop this idea into a novel/short story:
Triplets who are adopted by different parents and don't know of each other, but each of their parents have one thing in common: they want their child to engage in something that each triplet doesn't want to do.
What they are interested in is what their OTHER triplet is forced to try by THEIR parents. You may add backstory for these separate characters, or focus on only one of them. This idea can even by the subplot of the story, I'd love to see what you guys can create!
Later on in their lives, the triplets find out about each other and meet up.
Throughout the story, they suddenly find out that their adopted parents have seen a magical crystal ball, where they could see each child's destiny. That's why they were forcing it upon them.
Each parent admitted they saw a vision of their children, but it turns out what they saw was not their child, but the TRIPLET of the child.
One of the children play the piano gracefully at a concert, and the parent of the child's triplet realize that's the exact vision they saw! But it wasn't their child performing, but the triplet represents a ''different version'' of the child.
Moral lesson: Parents shouldn't force their kids to do what they don't want, even if they think they know what they're seeing in the kid's future.
Because the child could just have a triplet in some alternate world, but for now just love them as they are!
I hope you guys liked this prompt idea, please vote on this chapter if you found the idea intriguing. The next chapter includes snippets of scenes for another story idea, so check it out as well!
