"Urgh!" I grumbled, tears threatening to spill.

"I-I'm so sorry!" The guy in front of me exclaimed. He awkwardly moved his hands forward and behind, wanting to help but wondering if it would do more harm than good.

I huffed, looking sideways. I contemplated making a scene like a normal rich, entitled girl would. My eyes wandered the room and I noticed my target, Elijah. He was laughing with a group of people who looked around our age.

Must be his friends. I thought to myself, releasing a short relieved sigh. Thankfully, it doesn't look like he saw anything.

A hand waved right in front of me. I glanced up and it was him again.

Why is he still here? I glared at him from the ground. "What?"

He had his arm stretched out in front of me. "Can I help you up?" He asked with slumped shoulders.

I was about to curse at him but when we made proper eye contact, I just noticed how incredibly handsome my perpetrator was.

He had long, curly, dark brown hair which was currently tied in a loose bun, excluding a few rouge hair strands in front. His beige skin complimented his beautiful dark brown eyes.

I noticed my reflection in his eyes; my mouth just slightly hung open.

Then, I noticed my dress. A pretty baby pink formal dress, which now (thanks to the handsome stranger) had red stains all over it.

And that alone was enough to remind me how angry I was before I got distracted by his good looks.

"I can get up myself, thank you very much," I said as I stood up and then I looked down at my dress.

Yup, I'm going to go cry about this.

I had spent most, if not all of my savings to get the dress. The same savings that had taken me months to save up for. After tonight, I was hoping that I'd be able to get a good bargain for it at a thrift store, but like this...

"I'm sorry again." The handsome cursed man spoke in front of me, rubbing the back of his neck.

I looked at him again, this time getting a full-body view. He looked like he was a good few feet taller than me but we were currently almost the same height (thanks to my heels).

He wore a plain white formal shirt and had an apron around his waist. The sleeves of his shirt were rolled up and the top button for his shirt was undone. He had a name tag pinned to his collar which read 'Rodrigo'.

Oh, so he was a server. I thought to myself. Well, obviously. He spilled the glasses of wine he was carrying on the tray, on you. I reminded myself.

I should be mad-No, I was mad. But the only thought in my head right now was...

HE'S SO CUTE! I mean what if this is my meet-cute moment? I-

I have to get out of here. I finished the thought.

"I'm sorry, but if you don't mind, I can help you-" Rodrigo began, but I immediately cut him off, waving my hand dismissively.

"You'll help me by leaving me alone," I said sharply and then he backed away, fidgeting with his collar.

"Ah, yes. I'm sorry." He apologized again, now putting his hands in his pockets and avoiding eye contact, causing me to roll my eyes. Not only was he apologizing repeatedly, but now he couldn't even look me in the eyes. Timid guys are not my type. No, thank you.

I simply 'hmped' and turned around swiftly, wanting nothing more, than to leave.

While walking away, I looked around again, looking for Elijah. I needed to remind myself why I was here in the first place. I smiled when I saw him but frowned soon after when I saw who he was with.
