Voight

I walk into the bullpen around 5 am and make myself a cup of coffee in the break room. I walk to my office and I'm kinda surprised when I see my youngest detective curled up on my couch, clutching Alvin's old jacket and sucking on a pacifier. I smile sadly at Jay's sleeping form and decide to wake him up at 6. I know Jay's not ok, and I've always known that he's a little, the way he's built, the way he talks sometimes. He's my youngest and littlest detective in the unit, both physically and mentally. 6 rolls around and people start filing into the district. I go over to the couch in my office and gently wake Jay up.

"I's sowwy daddy," Jay says as he wakes up

His eyes widen when he realizes where he is, but before I get the chance to comfort him, my phone rings.

Voight  Kelly

Voight

Please tell me you are at the district and please tell me Jay is with you

Yes and yes

Oh thank god, let me talk to him

I hand the phone to Jay and don't bother to listen to that part of the conversation. Although I do pick up on a few words from Kelly and understand a few noises that Jay makes. Jay hands my phone back to me and curls into my side. I wrap my arm around him and wait for Kelly to arrive. Soon enough Kelly comes in through the roll-up and walks into my office. Jay's eyes light up when he sees his friend.

"Hey buddy,"  Kelly says and sits on the couch

Jay immediately curls into him and sighs contently. Kelly kisses his head and cuddles him.

"You guys should go before everyone else shows up," I tell Severide

Severide nods and pops the pacifier back into my detectives mouth.

"He should be back in a few days," Severide says

I nod and send them out the door.
