I leaned back in my bed, completely engulfed in my book. Yes, I, the great Perseus Jackson, was reading. The book was in Ancient Greek, so it helped a lot with my dyslexia. Plus, this wasn't just any ordinary book. These were the great books about Perseus Jackson, savior of Olympus. Well.. The title of this book I was reading at the moment was Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters. Yup. Someone had written a book about me. Chaos had gotten me the book as a thank you for serving him for one hundred years. Now I had served him for eight hundred, so I had all the books now. There were five. Chaos had told me that in another galaxy someone had written books based on myths and legends, and apparently I was a legend there, so this Rick Riordan dude, had written five books about me, and five books about The Heroes of Olympus (the Seven and our mission to stop Gaea). Honestly, Riordan here was pretty good at writing about our lives! He had even written about some dude named Carter Kane and a girl named Sadie Kane. He had even written about Annabeth's cousin Magnus Chase! Okay, enough of me fangirling over these books now.
I looked up from the book and over at the clock hanging on the wall in my tent. There was breakfast in ten minutes. I had been here at camp for about four days now, and nothing special had really happened. The campers had trained, the soldiers from Chaos had been training. I had been training. We all had. I had trained for myself, the training the Chaos army had come up with for the campers was boring and too easy.
I sat up and took my boots on, standing up with my book in my hand. I had come to the part where I had been turned into a guinea pig. I shivered because of that. It had not been fun to be turned into a guinea pig. I'd never forget that experience. I walked over to the opening of the tent and pushed the flap aside, walking outside with the flap closing behind me. I walked down the path towards the dining pavilion. I walked up a few steps, my eyes fixed on the page in my book. I walked over and grabbed a plate then sat down at a free table. I honestly didn't know where to sit, so I just sat down at the first table that came, which was the Poseidon table. It was also the table I had been sitting at for the last few days actually. I mostly sat there because no one really sat there, and because Poseidon was my father, but the camp didn't need to know that.
These last few days I had been known as the 'outsider'. I didn't participate in many activities and when I did I never worked in groups. I didn't talk to the army of Chaos or the campers if I didn't have to.
I wished to toast on my plate, and a toast with jam appeared on the white plate. I grabbed it and took a bite of it, placing the toast back on the plate and kept on reading in my book. I could feel someone staring at me from behind me, but I just ignored it, and kept eating my toast and reading in the book about me. To be honest, I was fascinated at how accurate Rick Riordan had described me. It was fascinating.
I looked up from my book, when the conch horn sounded two times. Meaning an attack was happening. The campers quickly got up and ran for weapons and armor, me? I closed my book and placed it neatly on the Poseidon table then got up and walked at a normal speed to camp borders. When I reached the hill with Thalia's tree on, I saw that not even half of the camp had arrived there yet. The ones who actually were there were the soldiers of Chaos and the immortal campers and Chiron and a few young campers. I walked up to them and looked down to see an army of monsters, the person leading them was a titaness. Though I actually didn't know her name, which was a bit embarrassing because the titans are my great grandmother and fathers? I honestly couldn't remember. Greek mythology was messed up. I took a step forward at the same time Delta took a step forward. I looked at him with an irritated look though he couldn't see it, which pissed me off a bit at the moment, he looked at me with irritation clear in his eyes, then returned his attention to the titaness. I did too. I opened my mouth to talk but Delta beat me to it. I clenched my teeth as he spoke.
