TW: Mention of abuse and suicide

You've never considered telling Vi about how you grew up or what you've went through as a kid but you couldn't help but wonder if it would change anything between you two, if it might be good or bad. You would usually get seen differently or get treated as a patient in need of constant help which you could never stand.

"Vi can I ask you a question" You asked looking down at Vi who's head was resting on your lap.

"Of course cupcake" She opened her eyes and gave you a reassuring smile.

"Would you ever see me differently" You asked nervously moving your fingers through her hair.

"Never, nothing could change how perfect you are" She looked at your nervous expression and sat up infront of you.

"Is everything alright?" She asked worriedly.

"Yes love sorry it's just I wanted to tell you about some things I went through but I don't want it to change anything" You couldn't help but picking at your cuticles, struggling to make eye contact with her.

"Hey, I'm all ears if you want to talk about it" She placed her hands on yours, stopping you from picking.

"Where do I even start" You looked up at her with an awkward smile.

"Where ever you feel is right" She gave you a reassuring nod and traced her thumb over your hands.

"When I was a kid, my dad was an alcoholic. It started with him only drinking on weekends which was fine until he drank every day, he would wake up and instantly get a beer. He was really abusive when he drank if it was with words or his hand" You took a deep breath and Vi squeezed your hands gently, signaling you that she's listening and it's okay.

"My mom couldn't take it for any longer and we ran away when I was still pretty young, that's why we bought the apartment upstairs since she already owed the bakery. My dad tried looking for us a few times but I don't think he really cared. After about four years my mom started struggling with depression and she got really sick because of it, she committed suicide when Jane and I started dating. She said in her letter that she hoped I could forgive her and my dad and that Jane will look after me" You felt the tears forming in your eyes with every word you spoke.

"I never truly went to school, I missed so many days because either my mom and I ran away or my dad didn't allow me out of the house. I've never had real friends before I opened the bakery and met a few people" You looked at Vi to see how she's taking everything, you couldn't tell if she was pissed or if she was going to cry.
