It was a week before summer and Hawkins High was full of trouble. Kids pulling pranks on one-another, teachers being stressed with finals, ect, ect. Steve Harrington was already late on this Monday morning, twenty minutes to be exact. He threw on his shoes and grabbed his bag and rushed out his door and into his car. He quickly pulled into the road and started heading to the school."SHIT!" He yelled, pulling into the school finally. He knew he'd get detention for this. He grabbed his bag and rushed into the school, going straight to his locker. He didn't honestly think about the tardy slip at that moment, it slipped his mind. He put his bag into his locker and shut the door. "Man should I even go to class at this point?" He asked himself as he headed to the restrooms.
He walked into the men's restroom and walked to one of the sinks. He looked into the mirror, seeing his hair all messy. He groans and gets his fingers wet with water and starts combing out his hair with his fingers. After a few minutes, he had it to where it didn't look so messy, but definitely not his normal hair style. He smiled a bit and went back into the halls, not sure where to go.
"I guess I'll just roam around.." He said out loud to himself. He walked down the halls, admiring the classes and art on the walls. As he turns the corner to one of these halls, he collided with someone, both tumbling to the ground. Steve fell backwards, hitting his head against the floor. He quickly brought his hands to his head and winced in pain.
"Shit man, m - my bad!" Someone said. Steve looked up to see a boy with curly brown hair and dark brown eyes, he wore punk rock clothing and a vest with no arms, he had many rings as well. He recognized this boy as Eddie Munson, or what many called him, "Freak". Eddie held his hand out, offering to help Harrington up from the floor. He rubbed the back of his head a bit before taking Munson's hand, getting up from the floor. Eddie picked up his things that he dropped as Steve dusted off his pants.
"What the hell were you doing running down the halls man?!" Steve shouted at the boy wanting an answer. He wasn't mad really, just more confused and curious. All of a sudden, a teacher runs around the corner to see the two boys. "Munson!" She yelled while grabbing the back of his shirt. Eddie dropped the stuff he was holding and put his hands up in defeat. Steve the noticed what Eddie was holding before dropping it. He had spray cans and cigarettes, typical Eddie.
The teacher looked at him and frowned. "You too Harrington?! First your twenty something minutes late and NOW your roaming the halls? And I thought you were a good student." Before he could say anything, she grabbed the back of his shirt as well and dragged the two boys down the hall, bringing them to the detention room. She closed the door behind them as Steve and Eddie fumble into the room, almost tripping. "Now.." the teacher started. "You both will be in here all day. I'll bring you lunch when the time comes, but for now, you two will stay here all day. I'll be back to check on you in a few hours." And with that, the teacher left the room, locking the door so the two couldn't leave.
Steve groaned and walked to the back of the room, sitting on the floor against the back wall and crossing his arms. Eddie chuckled softly at him, he found it funny that the king of Hawkins High, Steve Harrington, was throwing a fit. He walked up to him and crouched down in front of him, smiling. "Is Steve Harrington.. pouting?" He teased him, making Steve roll his eyes at the boy. "Dude what? No! I'm just... sitting, that's all, yeah.." He said back quickly.
Eddie laughed a bit and sat next to him. "What did you even do to get in dentition?" Steve asked Eddie. Eddie smiled in return. "I spray painted dicks all over the walls in the teachers lounge." He replied. Steve let out a soft laugh and rolled his eyes at him. "Of course you would." He said, looking at Eddie. Eddie had a huge, obnoxious grin on his face, looking back at Steve. "I'm surprised you even were skipping class, Harrington!" Munson said to the brown haired boy who sat next to him. The boy scoffed and turned his head away from him. "Shut it, Munson." He said, making the boys both laugh.
