matt allowed me to drive the mini van as long as he could come. nick stayed at the party. matt wasn't really speaking much and often pulled on his sleeve of his costume, i guess he was just uncomfortable having to watch me drive nervously just so i could confess my love for his brother.

"thank you for doing this by the way, you know, i think the hardest part was just seeing chris' face at prom. i wish i had just told him then. but you know what, no matter how he feels now, i've just got to find him and tell him how i truly feel." i say, giving myself the pep talk.

"you just did." i hear chris' say.

i turn to face him as he takes his mask off, what? chris was in the car with me the whole time and i didn't even realise? damn they really do look alike.

"oh. my. god!" i yell, trying to keep my eyes on the road, i couldn't.

i kept looking over at chris for about five seconds before the car swerved the timiest bit.

"god woman! pull over!" chris yells, i giggle as i pull into a space.

"i was not expecting that! oh, my word! how did i not even realise?" i ramble.

"well i'm here." he says.

"i thought you were leaving for harvard." i say.

"yeah, i was planning too but i decided i needed too see you one more time." he said.

"chris" i say, he giggles.

"oh and then matt and nick came upstairs and told me everything." he explains, hmm, did they?

"and they did the switch?" i giggle.

"it was classic nick too come up with that." he laughs.

"thanks for staying a little longer." i say, relived, happy, and shocked.

"well i had too see you guys blow out your candles." he says.

"happy birthday to me." i say.

"so what about harvard?" i ask.

"i don't wanna talk about that right now." he smiles.

"actually, i wanna know what it was that you had to tell me." he says.

i take a breath before looking at him.

"um, sitting here in front of no one in particular, i'm saying.. i love you." i say, as nervous as ever.

"and i love you." he says before placing his lips onto mine.
