Don't ever try to get inside my head, it's too dark for you

The next morning, I awoke before Kenna. She was tangled up in the sheets, a small ball on the edge of my bed. I gently pulled her closer, just taking the time to slowly wake up, holding her in my arms. My wife. And soon my queen. I couldn't wait.

I let her sleep as I readied slowly for the day. I wore only a pair of trouser as I walked out to my balcony. Instantly I felt the cold biting at my exposed flesh. The wind was harsh and the snow freezing below me. I shivered, taking my seat as I always did and meditating, as I always did.

I let myself travel through the woods this time. I entered through a wrought iron gate, journeying deep into the trees. There were endless paths for me take, streams that I passed, bushes everywhere. Some paths led me to dead end, some to meadows, some to cliffs. There was no guarantee where I would end up when my mind left.

When I did return again, I quickly and silently returned to my chambers. Kenna was still asleep. I dressed in silence, letting her rest. She would certainly need it after last night. The memory of last night brough a satisfied smirk to my lips.

I left the room, ordering a maid outside not to disturb the future queen under any circumstances. When she did finally wake, I wanted breakfast brought to my chamber. I would not see her again until tonight. I had far too much work to do.

I met with my uncle to discuss my trip to the other covens that would be approaching soon. And I had a meeting about Kenna's coronation as queen. I ordered the finest silks to be bought for the occasion. My wife would only have the best of everything.

Later in the day after dusk, I was going for a meeting with another member of the Dark Coven when a surprise stopped me in my tracks.

Greyson was there with Enna. They were arguing with a guard who refused them entry to wherever they were trying to go. I walked closer, intrigued.

"I have every right to speak with my sister!" Greyson was yelling, spittle dripping from his lips. "You cannot stop me!"
"The king has made it very clear that no one is to disturb his wife for the day." The guard answered without emotion

Well that was an exaggeration. I wanted her to be able to rest. That didn't mean she had to stay in my room all day. Although the idea of her waiting for me with nothing but that little slip on...

"I should be the king!"
"But you are not," I reminded him, waltzing forward, my arms behind my back. If Greyson were a dog I was sure his fur would be on ends and he would be growling at me. "I am. What can I do for you, Princeling?"

"I want to speak with Kenna," he hissed through clenched teeth.

A smirk grew on my lips. "I'm afraid my lady is indisposed at the moment. She had a very tiring night last night. You know how weddings are."

A sneer appeared on Enna's face, making her look most unpleasant.

"A pity you were unable to attend," I continued. "Such a special occasion should be celebrated. Poor Kenna had no family there with her."
"Yes well," Enna stuck her nose up in the air. "We were very busy as you can imagine."

Yes, plotting to steal my crown must keep Greyson very occupied. A pity for his own betrothed. She must not be as satisfied as Kenna.

"Let me check in on her," I offered. "I will let you know if she is available."

I took my time walking up the stairs to my room. I knocked briefly on the door and walked in without waiting for an answer.

Kenna was standing there, her arms crossed, a frown on her lips.
