It was 3 days later that the priest finally came. I was locked in my room, my dad called off from work and had asked to be transferred back to [C/n] while I could hear mother mumbling prayers.
The priest came in, wearing a robe and had carried packs with him. He set down a pile of salt aside while setting up a makeshift altar with incense sticks before handing me a beaded bracelet.
"Remain in this room tonight, and whatever you do.." he grasped my shoulders tightly. "Never open the doors or windows to anyone until morning. Even if it was your parents or friends." His tone took a grave turn, I shuddered at the prospect.
Is it about the Hachishakusama?
Once the priest left, mom brought in a tray of dinner and left it, giving one last glance of sympathy before closing the door.
All windows and doors were locked from the inside, which allowed better privacy and able to protect yourself more easily from robbers, but I never thought it would also be used for this.
I laid on my bed, stared at the ceiling before looking at the incense sticks. It was pungent, probably used to hide my scent.
I lifted my phone, before my thumbs flew across the keyboard on the screen to search up Hachishakusama. Wanting to know more about his story.
But unfortunately, there was no male version. Only a woman. But it was better than nothing, so I read through most of the credible looking ones, and majority of them all had similar stories about a woman who can mimic other's voices to lure a child to themselves by opening the window or door.
Suddenly, I heard a knock on the door. "[Y/n]? Darling? The priest gave us news that you're safe now. The demon has been exorcised."
I heard dad's voice at the door he knocked at. I stood up to go over to the door, before receiving a text on my phone. "[Y/n]? Open up." his voice turn darker when he heard the notification go off. But I reached over to grab my phone before hearing him speak again. "Open up, you're friends are here."
I pursed my lips. I don't recall introducing anyone from school to my parents. They're probably worried about me since I haven't contacted them during the days in summer.
I returned to the door, reaching for the lock and unlocked it, but as I turned the door knob and pulled the door open, a sudden thought came to mind. 'I never told my classmates about my home address.'
They only knew where the street I lived on was.
After that, I immediately shut the door closed. "You're lying. You're not my dad." I hissed out, glaring at the door. But I heard nothing. I sighed and locked the door again. Heading to my bed where my phone was and unlocked it to find the notification was from me dad that was exactly 5 minutes ago.
"Going to get tickets back to [c/n].. Huh.." I muttered before sending a reply to them. "Alright, see you tomorrow morning, I'll get packing." Once I hit sent, my phone started glitching.
"What the-" then the phone turned black. And all the lights in my room shut down. "What's going on!?" I shrieks in fear, whipping my head around then checked to see if the lights really shut off.
I flipped the light switch several times before coming to the result of my room with no power.
Crawling onto my bed, I lifted the blankets and slipped underneath, clutching my phone to my chest in fear and in hopes that my parents will be hone quicker.
"P o" the noise was right at my ear, causing a scream to rise out of me, but a hand covered my mouth. I was dragged out from under the cover and played on my back with the Hachishakusama holding my small hands by his larger one while towering over me.
