Shiva had never imagined he would be a father. Out of all the countless thoughts racing around in his brain at any given time, that had never been one of them. But all that changed when he asked the simple question, "Tu chipkali se darti hai?". Since then, Shiva's life had become irrevocably entwined with that of Raavi's. When their childhood friendship had turned to enemity but had once again developed into friendship, and their relationship not long after that, Raavi eventually made Shiva realize that they had just enough surplus of love to share with another life.

And that's what brought them to where they were: in a hospital greeting room restlessly awaiting their son's arrival.

"Unhe bohot zyaada time lag raha hai!" Shiva said nervously, pacing the length of the small room.

Raavi sat on a chair, her hands clasped anxiously in front of her, but when she spoke, it was with a baffling self-assured calm. "Tu kyun BP badha raha hai.. Sab theek hoga!"

Shiva scoffed. "Tu samajh nahi rahi—"

But Shiva was interrupted by the door opening, revealing a nurse holding a tightly-wrapped blue bundle. She smiled at the suddenly frozen pair. "Aap apne bete se milna chahenge?"

Shiva and Raavi approached cautiously, their collective breaths catching in tandem as they gazed into the little boy's inquisitive eyes.

"Raavi.. Yeh.. Yeh.." Shiva attempted, his incomparable vocabulary failing him. Raavi beamed.

"Humara." She finished. "Humara bachha."
