Chapter 14: Annoying Kids

Hey everyone, this is Orochimaru_Wife23. I finished the next chapter of The Beautiful Viper. While LegendaryNekoSannin came up with the questions at the end of today chapter.

I walked down the hall. She pointed at looking for this Kenji guy. After a good ten minutes of walking, I spotted a red-haired man who looked to be in his 20s coming out of the bathroom.

"Are you by chance, Kenji?" I asked, walking over towards him.

He turned around and looked at me curiously for a couple of minutes.

"You must be one of the ninjas assigned here to help today," He said.

"Yeah, I was told to see what help you need for the younger kids and babies," I told him.

"Could you watch the five to nine years old in the play area while I get the babies and toddlers ready for their morning nap," He said. "Just try to keep the entertainment until lunchtime. If you need anything, let me know, or you can ask the caregivers that are upstairs with the older kids for help," He explained.

"Got it. Keep them entertained until lunchtime."

"Good, I will be getting the babies ready to nap. Good luck with kids in the play area further down the right corner and their bathroom. That too if you are the kids need to go," he stated.

I nodded and started to head off towards the play area to get to work on entraining the kids.

I walked into a large room where I saw about almost 20 kids playing with toys. I sighed, knowing this was going to be a long day.

"Good morning, kids," I said boredly as I walked into the play area.

"Wow, a ninja!" A young boy with spiky white hair exclaimed with a giant smile on his face.

"Yeah, that's right, I'm a ninja," I replied, giving the boy a faint smile.

'Man, this village is full of loud people compared to home.' I thought, looking at the energetic kid in the play area who looked at me curiously.

"So, what is it like being a ninja?" A little girl with pink hair tied into pigtails asked.

 "Well, it's not exactly the most fun career at the moment," I started."Since we have mostly been on D-rank missions involving helping here, but you get to learn all kinds of justu," I explained.

"What kind of jutsu!?" The kids exclaimed.

"Well, all kinds of justu like the clone justu," I said, making a clone of myself.

"Awesome, when I'm old enough, I will enroll in the academy!" The white hair boy shouted.

"Oh, keep dreaming, Kōhaku the hokage would never allow for an orphan like you to enter the ninja academy in two years when you are seven years old," A boy around six years old with dark blue hair and silver eyes said with narrow eyes directed at the boy.

"What does that mean?" The white hair boy asked.

"Your nothing but a random civilian orphan. You can't be a ninja. While I come from well, a known clan in the Hidden Mist!" He stated. "I might not be originally from here, only found by the gate, but at least I have the talent to be a ninja." 

"That's not true."

"Alright, enough, you both can become a ninja. It does matter if you're from a clan or not," I replied. "I know a civilian that graduated from the academy with me."

"As if he never be chosen by the Hokage when he comes here seeing If kids what to join the Academy if there of age," The dark hair boy muttered.

"How about instead of arguing, we play some games until it is time for lunch," I said to the two boys.

"Alright," the white-haired boy said, going over to play with thee, pink hair girl."

"Whatever," The blue hair boy muttered.

I sighed as I watched the kids playing games with their friends or playing with toys alone.

'This is going to be a very long and exhausting  mission.' I thought as I leaned against the wall as the kids played around.

A few hours later, Kenji walked into the play area and came over to me.

"Lunch will be ready in three more hours. Start getting the kids to wash their hands, and after everyone does, lead them to the kitchen," He told me.

"Alright," I replied.

He nodded and left the play area to go back to get the babies ready, I assumed.

"Okay, everyone, time to watch your hands for lunch!" I announced.

The kids then all stopped playing, and I signaled for them to follow me after I made sure everything was put away before having them line up near the bathroom; one kid went at a time to wash hands and use the bathroom.

Once, everyone had their hands washed and used the bathroom. I led them to the kitchen to eat the lunch my two other teammates helped make with the other cooks.

After two more hours of watching the kids once lunch was over, it was finally time for my team to head since the orphanage didn't need our help any longer. A new team was going to help out for dinner and the rest of the evening.

I let out a sigh of relief as I walked out of the orphanage with my Team.

"Hey, pretty golden eye female, please come visit again and teach me more about being a ninja!" The white hair boy from earlier called out.

"Junki, why don't you go play with the others," Kenji said.

"Hey Junki, I will think about it," I replied, giving him a small smile.

"Yay!" He cheered, running off.

"So not coming back here," I muttered under my breath as was walked away from the orphanage.

"You have to work on that attitude, Katsumi," Reika-sensei said.

"Sorry, just way too much energy for me. Anyway, I need a nap. See you tomorrow," I said, heading towards my apartment.
