"Slow down, speedy. God!" Wade called out to Carly as the two of you tried to keep her pace. She was Speed-walking her way through the town. You didn't even know it was possible for a human to walk that fast.

"Miss Ambrose," Wade said as the three of you walked past one of those boards with advertisements that you'd typically find in a park or town square. It was stapled with a bunch of papers talking about the upcoming beauty pageant, "wonder how many teeth you have to have to win that one."

"Put on a Spider-Man costume and you could win any beauty pageant, no matter that town," you told them. Spider-Man was a super attractive guy, and most peoples beauty couldn't even parallel his so it was almost always an instant win.

"Think about it- all three of us could join. One of us could be Batman, a robin, and then Alfred. Or maybe one of the other robins," Carly pitched in as she laughed.

"I call dibs on 1960's robin, those tights were peak fashion," you said with a wink, causing her to burst out laughing.

"This is kind of nice," Wade said, deciding to tune the two of you out as he grabbed Carly's hand. He was probably afraid about how hot you would look in a robin costume, because between the two of us- you would definitely win Carly's heart.

"Yeah," she told him, jokingly reaching her other hand out to you.

You grabbed it so that the three of you were all walking together while holding hands.

"Oh wait there's a pet store!" Carly broke out of both you and Wade's hands as she ran over to the window of one of the stores on the apparently main front of the town.

"Puppies! Oh my god look at them," Carly cooed as she looked the litter sleeping in the window. You tried looking into the store, but you didn't see much. More specifically, you didn't see any people.

"They're cute, adorable, maybe next time," Wade told her, grabbing onto her arm and dragging her away, not interested in the tiny dogs in the slightest.

You for one wanted to continue to look at them, but didn't want to be left behind so you continued after your friends.

There wasn't much else interesting in the town. There was also a whole shop dedicated to loans. Sad.

Finally the gas station was within view. There were no cars parked at the gas pumps, or anywhere. Hell, you hadn't seen a single car or person since you guys had arrived here. It was the middle of a sunny day, yet not a single person walked the street of Ambrose.

"Hello?" Wade called out as he pressed his head up against the garage door.

You looked in through one of the windows as Carly peered in through the front door. It didn't seem like there was anyone in there.

Carly even peeked her head into the shop to ask hello, but still there wasn't a response.

"You see anybody on that end of the shop?" Carly asked as Wade approached the two of you.

"No, nobody."

Carly's cellphone began to ring. She dug through her pocket to pick it up.

There were a few moments of silence before Carly responded to the other end of the phone with, "really, why? What happened?"

This peaked your curiosity more than staring into some abandoned garage did.

"No, there's no one at the gas station," Carly said into the line with a sigh. Definitely one of the people out of the road, and out of the four of them it was probably Paige. "I don't know where we're going right now."
