The three of you walked up the stairs to the big building, it looked a bit plain, and the place looked boring from the outside.
"I don't know what you expect to see in here," Carly told Wade as she looked the place up and down.
Wade took a key from his pocket and began to scratch at the wall with it.
"It is wax! Like, literally," Wade seemed overly excited about that, it did explain why the place looked so boring. Because secretly, it wasn't boring. It was wax.
You decided to test that fact for yourself by scraping off a piece of the wax and putting it in your mouth. Immediately it tasted like you bit off a chunk of chapstick and you proceeded to accidentally swallow it.
"What the hell, [Name]?" Wade stared at you in disgust. Carly, however, looked humored by what you just did.
"I dunno man, had to check somehow," you said as Wade looked away and opened the door to the house of wax.
Carly was immediately distracted, "you're not gonna go in there, are you?" He was already inside though, so it wasn't much of a question.
He responded by smiling and shaking his head yes. Carly huffed a sigh and dragged you into the building alongside her. She shut the door behind the lot of you.
"Doesn't 'closed' mean 'I dont want you in here'?" Carly asked Wade as you looked around the inside of the place. It was full of those silly little wax people. You don't know what else you expected.
"Relax, I just want to take a quick look," Wade replied, walking further into the place that you guys definitely shouldn't have been in. None of the lights were on, and there was enough dust to kill a man.
"What if someone's here?" Carly quickly walked over to him, not wanting to be left behind.
"Hello? Anyone in here-" Wade waited a second before telling the two of you, "see, we're fine."
"You do realize if there was someone in here waiting to kill us, they wouldn't respond," you told him, following the two of them while looking at all the sculpted figures.
"Do you get off on scaring people or something dude? I doubt anybody comes to town often enough for some guy to wait around in a place like this for people to 'enter the trap'. Now be quiet and look at this place. Literally everything is made out of wax!" God Wade liked wax. Hopefully he only liked it and didn't 'like' like it.
"Yeah. Cool. Awesome." Carly said, clearly not thrilled.
You stood by the two wax figures that looked like they were about to get it on the couch. You quietly laughed at it before looking away."Who are these people supposed to be?" Wade asked, entering an area with old ladies in fancy little outfits.
"I don't know," Carly huffed, seemingly tired of her own boyfriend.
"Aren't there supposed to be famous people in a wax museum? I dont recognize this guy."
As he spoke, you rubbed you shoulder before realizing you entire sleeve was soaked through with blood. (Hopefully you aren't wearing white. Although if you are, that means your friends really suck for not noticing). At this point you were Probably going to bleed out before you guys got that fan belt.
"'Trudy opens house of wax.' 'Trudy's wax carvings are a hit at the state fair.' 'Trudy and husband are expecting first child.' Since when is a wax sculpted a celebrity?" Carly was reading old newspaper clippings from the wall.
"I don't know. Small town I guess," Wade told her as he walked over to the newspapers.
"That's right. You like small towns."
