Alexis

I didn't know where I was, and I certainly didn't know why I ran away from Jim. Alexander, or 'Livesy', might have killed Jim's family, and that was bad, so I should be scared. But my father will probably kill Jim's mom when he finds out I didn't come to him.

A rustle in the trees was enough to remind me I'm in a forest, with no food, no water, and no where to go. Great.

Sighing, my feet walked me along a faint dirt path. Looking around, I noticed squirrels and birds looking at me.

"Where the hell am I?" I muttered to myself. Based on everything so far, this forest had no  civilians or anyone that could help me. So civilians. But what about the dirt path? It might be hard to see, but it's still there. People must've walked through this part of the forest, and created a path. With little hope restored, I followed the trail until I arrived at another cabin. Considering I was just kidnapped and brought to a cabin, I was wary, but I would just use my amazing escape artist skills to escape if I needed to.

I hesitated before walking up to the front door. It didn't look abandoned, in fact, there were lights on. There was a figure moving around what seemed like a kitchen. I didn't want to look like a creeper, so averting my gaze from the large window to the front door, I rapped on the door slightly and stepped back. What would I even say? Hi, I'm Alexis, and I'm running from my psycho dad who I thought was dead. Could I stay for a few days?

I shook my head. Sounding like an idiot wasn't the point.

The wooden door opened, and revealed a tall man. And my, was he fine. Ew! I sounded like my perverted mom.

Clearing my throat what I hoped was quietly, I looked up to meet his eyes and smiled. Or maybe drooled.

"Hi! I'm Alexis! I was exploring when I fell off a tree I was climbing, but I'm okay! When I looked around, I realized I didn't know where I was, so I was wondering, well I'm still wondering, um, if you could tell me where to get to the nearest town?"

I grinned, but looked away from the man's gaze. He seemed young, maybe my age, or older. Not that that should give me hope. He's probably in a relationship! He might not be straight. I admitted to myself I was relieved. If he was some old guy living out the last 10 years of his life in an isolated cabin.

"And I'm Bobby Joe Brown. Why would you be exploring out here? It's miles away from any sort of towns, and no one has been around here for months."

He spoke in an accented voice. How did his accent not fade if no one comes around here? Talented guy.

"Just adventurous! Um, how many miles exactly till another town?" I mean sure, he wasn't a bad looking dude, but I was trying to accomplish something, and I wasn't going to let some stranger stop me.

"You would have to go back the way you came, 'Alexis'. There's only one other town any where close to here, and even then, it's 36 miles."

I calmly panicked, if that was possible.

I couldn't go back the way I came! I had the whole dramatic exit thing going on, and I was kidnapped by some bozos back where I was. Or, as a kidnapper would put it, borrowed against my will.

"Are you sure? I mean, you live here, maybe there's some other cabins around you? I just came from a cabin, in fact." Many miles away, but I didn't tell him that.

"Wait, how far away? What did it look like?"

Damn him!

"A couple miles back, in a forest close to a meadow. The cabin look typical. Why?"

He looked hesitant, but replied finally.

"A certain reason."

I stood there, looking dumber than a blue stick, while I tried to figure out what he meant by that.

Why did it matter to him what cabin? And what does he mean by a small-

I was distracted when he grabbed my arm un-gently and pulled me inside his cabin.

"What the hell?" Was what I would say if a really ugly guy wasn't standing there. Never mind.

"What the hell? Who's he?"

The really ugly guy smiled a really ugly smile.

"I am your father."

What was this, Star Wars? Also, what was with everybody I met trying to get me to meet my father.

"Well, B.J.B, Alex, what are your problems? Especially you Alex."

"It's Livesy." He ground out.

Hah! Not according to Jim.

"I'm here to take you home with me, dear daughter."

"Is your voice naturally so deep? Or are you one of those teenage boys still going through puberty, so you force your voice to go really low, even though in real life you sound like a high pitched cat?"

I was attempting to appear fine, but on the inside, this is the person who killed Jim's family for fun.

"HOW DARE YOU!" Alexan- I mean Livesy screamed. Like a high pitched cat.

One second I was being grasped painfully by Bobby Joe Brown, which might not be his real name come to think about it, to being grasped painfully by my father and disappearing from the small cabin.

When we landed on something hard, I slipped and tripped and fell. Livesy offered his hand, but I ignored it and stood up myself. Looking around the unfamiliar room, I turned back to father.

"Welcome home, dear."

There was that really ugly smile again.
