“What can we do?” Rome asked pushing a hand through his hair only to have it fall back into his eyes moments later.
“What's your name, Human?” The older man asked, ignoring his sons’ distress.
I didn’t reply, only raised and eyebrow. Does this wacko seriously expect me to tell him anything?
“The hard way it is…” He muttered stepping closer.
Before he could make more than a step in my direction Rome stuck out an arm in front of him, halting his progress.
“Father.” He said in a warning tone.
“Ah, yes. My apologies, son. I forgot you’d already fed off of her.” The eccentric man apologized, taking a step back.
“Her friend called her Juliet in her dream.” Rome informed him, shifting slightly to my right.
The mans eyes widened slightly before he burst into laughter. “Oh that’s rich, son.”
“If someone doesn’t explain what the fuck is going on in the next five seconds--“ I started only to be interrupted by a scoff.
“You’ll what, sweet cheeks?” Rome taunted. “Faint again.”
“Call me sweet cheeks one more time and I’ll show you.” I smiled sweetly back at him.
“Children, no need to be hostile.” The man said mildly, a hint of laughter still coating his tone.
“And you,” I said, fuming. “What is so terribly funny that you got by my name?”
“Don’t speak to him like that!” Rome said from my side, eyes betraying his shock and anger.
“No, no, son.” His father said calmly, “She doesn’t know.”
“Now, dear, I wasn’t laughing at you, merely the irony of your name.” He clarified.
“And what about it?” I asked.
My name was always something I got crap for at school, and why wouldn’t I? The original Juliet killed herself over some guy she’d met only days before. And for what? Love? Hah.
“I don’t believe my rude son has properly introduced himself, Juliet meet Romeo Marché, I am his father, Han Marché.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” I muttered darkly. “I was kidnapped by a pedophile from the sixteenth century and a pilot from Star Wars.
“Well, you see, there are some… extenuating circumstances about your kidnapping.” Han hesitated, glancing to Romeo.
“Explain.” I demanded tersely.
“We’re vampires, sweet cheeks; and I can’t seem to erase the things you’ve seen from you memories.” Romeos voice whispered in my ear, his cool breath raising Goosebumps on the skin it caressed.
“If you're trying to be dramatic, you're just coming off as creepy.” I informed him as a shiver danced its way down my spine involuntarily.
Vampire. Cold skin, calling me human and talk of feeding off of me; it made sense.
“Why are you not shocked, or scared. You're heart rate barely increased.” Romeo asked, looking puzzled.
