Chapter One - The Arrival

'Bye mum, bye dad!' June yelled getting dropped off by the school. 

'Goodbye sweetheart! yelled mum 'I hope you have a great time for the next few weeks! June continued waving until they were out of sight.

'Finally, i'll be able to have some quality time with my friends.' she sighed. Before she could even walk into the school. She heard someone yelling and running behind her. 

'HEY! JUNE, WAIT UP!' It was Sophia, her best friend since grade 7. After being put in the same math class many years ago, they became inseperable. 

'OMG! HI SOPHIE!' June pulled her into a tight hug. 

'Careful! We don't want to drop our things!' Sophia giggled. Both of the girls walked into the building where they were greeted by Kate, Ava and Georgia. 

'Hey girls!' June said happily. 'How was summer?' 

'Amazing!' Ava said back. 'My family went to Hawaii and we had the best time ever!'

'Ughhh, luckyyyyy' Georgia groaned. Before anyone could say anything the bell went. All the girls went into a big group hug. 

'This is it!' Sophia squealed. 'I'm sure we will finally all be able to get a dawn together!' 

All the girls began to walk to the hall where they had an assembly that morning. The hall was flooded with chatter but everyone fell silent when the headmistress walked onto the stage. 

'Welcome back to Riverton Boarding School For Girls.' She started. 'I would also like to welcome our new freshmens joining us today.' The room was silent and everyone waited impaitiently for the dorms to be announced.

'So grade 7 and 8 dorms are in D block, grade 9 and 10 are in F block and grade 11 and 12 will be in A block. Please walk towards your block and dorms will be announced there. Grade 7s were nervously checking their maps of the school to figure out where to go, while the rest of the girls quickly walked over to the blocks. 

'Finally, we are in year 10.' Georgia said again. 'It's felt like a lifetime.'

'You said it Georgie.' Kate sighed. 'I'm so glad to be in year ten, maybe people will take us seriously now.'

When the girls arrived, they immediately went quiet when they saw miss smith with the clipboard of names. Everyone at Riverton knew that she was the strictest scariest teacher there. 

'Now that our school has renovated, we will be doing 2 people per dorm.' miss smith said sternly. The girls froze.

'WHAT?' Sophia whisper-shouted. 'THIS IS SO UNFAIR.' 

'SHUT UP' June whispered back. Unfortunately, they all knew one of them would be left out. She let a deep breath in, and a deep breath out.

'Ok so, let's begin reading this list aye.' miss smith started. 'Poppy Abbott is with Brenda Richards in F10.' The 2 girls happily walked over to miss smith, grabbed their keys and walked over to their dorm. 

10 minutes pass and the only students left are Ava, Georgia, Kate, Sophia and of course June.

'Now, Ava Watson and Kate Rose, are in F15.' The girls looked stunned. 'Ava and Kate slowly walked up and grabbed their keys and began walking away. Before they left they turned over their shoulders and they looked extremely disapointed to not be altogether.

'and finally,' miss smith began. Sophia, June and Georgia all look at each other. 

'Sophia Brewer and Georgia Elliot in F18.' Sophia looked at June with big sad eyes, then turned towards Georgia and began walking to miss smith. She grabbed the two keys and handed one to Georgia and they both walked off.

'Goodbye June' Sophia mouthed as they walked off. June was so upset but she wasn't going to show it. June looked around and noticed she was the only girl left. 

'Um, I'm the only girl left? Do I get a dorm to myself?' asked June. She was trying not to sound rude because there was no way that she was going to mess with miss smith, but she felt like it didn't come across as she wanted it too. Miss smith was a very posh lady, and it was easy to be intimidated by her.

"Miss June Martin.' miss smith started slowly walking towards her. 'You will be sharing with me, in F13.' June's body froze. Sharing a DORM with MISS SMITH? No way.

'WHAT? YOU CAN'T SHARE A DORM WITH ME?' June WANTED to yell, but she just said it inside her head. This was ridiculous. 

'Here is your key.' miss smith handed her a key with F13 engraved in it. June took it hesitently. They both walked over to their dorm. miss smith unlocked it and thank god they got seperate rooms. June began to unpack her bag and collapsed onto her bed.

'why do i always have the most shit luck ever?' she groaned. 'At least there are no classes today since we get to have the day unpacking. 

Day soon turned into night. In the bathroom June did her 5 step night time skincare routine and drank a massive glass of water. 

As June slipped into bed she couldn't sleep. She was so jealous that her friends were probably having so much fun without her. Slowly but surely she fell asleep.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

the alarm screeched and June slowly opened her eyes and pressed snooze. As she got comfy again something was off. She looked down and to her horror, she had wet the bed. she hadn't done this since she was 3. She panicked and quickly changed her clothes. There was so time to change the sheets. She was going to do it later. 

She rushed into to the bathroom and began to apply her makeup. Miss Smith walked in looking sterner than usual. 

'I saw you wet the bed.' She looked angry and June was so ashamed. 'That's not normal for a girl your age, I have the perfect thing for you.'

June felt curious. Miss Smith reached into a big bag that had been shoved into the corner of the bathroom and pulled out... a diaper.
