A few months had passed since Shehnaaz had offered her husband the olive branch of friendship. He didn't want her to compromise with the situation and resign to her life as his wife and his queen just like that, but that was when he had all the time in the world to woo her and court her. If situation had been on his side, his queen would've entered her palace happily, more in control and more in love but alas, even the kings don't get all their wishes and while it was an unfortunate situation, Sidharth knew he'd do it all over again, just to save her from being hurt in any and every manner whatsoever.
Things were better now, easier. Shehnaaz had finally had time to process, time to relax. She had started to work a few weeks ago and even though Sidharth was on the edge regarding this decision, he didn't stop her.
Although she did have to agree to put up with a few conditions.

“You're the queen of the Mafia. I don't want to stop you from living your life in any manner that you like, but I still have to worry about your safety.” Sidharth explained to Shehnaaz before she could argue or protest against his decision.
Shehnaaz rolled her eyes. “I am not a child.”
“Yes. Yes, you're not. But you've got a hero complex.” Sidharth sighed. “Either that, or you're a magnet for dangerous situations and very susceptible to being harmed. By marrying you, I've likely added to that magnetism.”
“I'm nothing of that sort.” Shehnaaz protested.
Sidharth clicked his tongue affectionately. “My dear warrior princess. Do I have to remind you what happened when you tried to rescue the four year old from being kidnapped. You were miles out of the main city and.. you didn't care.”
“That was you!” Shehnaaz gasped.
“If you're referring to the man who rescued both you and the little one, yes I was. But if you're referring to the mastermind of that lousy attempt at a kidnapping, then how dare you! It's like you don't know me at all.” Sidharth looked genuinely offended.
Shehnaaz pouted. “I don't really know what you actually do. What am I supposed to think?” She asked innocently.
Sidharth sighed. “First of all, we're not goons. We don't kidnap for ransom. We have more money than that kid's parents could even think of. Besides, the kid was barely four. It's inhuman to do something like that, god disgusting.” He gagged.
Shehnaaz smiled. “So you saved us?” She asked surprised. “That's where you saw me for the first time.”
Sidharth nodded. “I saw you following a car with tinted black glass and it piqued my interest. I followed you and got a little background on the car owners, it was not really rocket science after that. You were walking into a volcano with zero protection. I assumed whoever you were trying to save meant alot to you.”
Shehnaaz blushed at that.
“Imagine my surprise, my queen when I realized that you didn’t even know the name of the girl you almost—”
“Killed myself to save.” She completed, for he couldn’t and saw him flinch and hiss.
“I’m not strong enough to see you getting hurt. Not even for the good of the world.” Sidharth said softly.
Shehnaaz nodded.
“You’ll take the security and you’ll listen to them. That’s the only thing I ask for, my love.” Sidharth said softly.
“I understand.”

It had been a smooth sail since, although Sidharth couldn’t always see Shehnaaz when he pleased. You gain something, you lose something, that is the rule of the world.
