Shehnaaz had never looked less than perfect to his eyes, but that evening was special. Dressed in a gray ankle length dress, minimal makeup, eyes shining and a big smile on her made her look more ethereal than he could imagine.

Shehnaaz could feel the heat of his gaze burning through her as she walked into the foyer to greet her husband, he looked no less than a greek-god in a gray blazer.

"We're twinning." Shehnaaz exclaimed, making him smile. "You look handsome."

"Says the woman who looks better than a heaven descended angel." He retorted, with a fond smile.

She blushed, as Sidharth linked their arms together. "Shall we, my queen?" He asked courteously.

Shehnaaz nodded.

Sidharth led her out of the room and towards his favorite car and opened the passenger side door for her. "It's supposed to be your special day." She mumbled.

"It's supposed to be our first date. Let me put all the stops for this one." He retorted. Sidharth bent over slightly and kissed her forehead gently before closing the car door.

Shehnaaz had booked the most exquisite restaurant of the city for the day all for themselves. The rooftop overlooked the most mesmerizing view of the whole city, so much so that it earned a full-fledged gasp of wonder from Sidharth.

"You like it?" Shehnaaz asked hopefully.

Of course he did. "It's beautiful."

Shehnaaz grinned, leading him towards the singular table in the middle of the rooftop. "I kind of pre-ordered everything, didn't want you to wait." She said quietly.

Two waiters walked over to them as soon as they had settled comfortably in their seats. One of them lit the candle, another arranged their food and drinks on the table. "Have a great evening, ma'am & sir."

Soon after, they were completely alone with each-other, a soft tune playing in the background as they ate, talked and glanced at each-other like teenagers in love.

This wasn't a first date, not with them being married to each other for a complete year and half but it felt like a new experience for both of them.

Sidharth had loved her since day 1 of their relationship, Shehnaaz took her time but she was getting there. Maybe she was already there.

Feelings are rarely as simple as the world hopes to believe but Shehnaaz knew she had tested him enough in the last few months. She knew there was no one she'd rather have this with, than him and she knew she loved him, as a friend, as a partner.

That evening, she couldn't tear her gaze away from him. She couldn't help but feel a flutter in the pit of her stomach every time he smiled at her, asked her to taste something, refilled her wine glass for the nth time that evening.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" He asked, feeling his heart do a flip in his chest.

Shehnaaz shrugged. "I think I'm tipsy." She teased.

He knew her. He loved her. He loved her so damn much that he played along because she was so beautiful when she was in a mood for mischief.

"I can see that." Sidharth responded. "It tells me that you're a flirty drunk."

Shehnaaz giggled. "I'm not a flirty drunk."

"Then why are you looking at me like you're lovestruck?" He asked curiously. "You have heart eyes."

"Maybe because I am love struck." Shehnaaz responded. "Anyone would get heart-eyes if they look at their husband looking as handsome as you do."

"You're drunk."
