Life changing Choice

"There she is! Follow her!" one of the bullies cried out.

"ohmygodohmygodohmygod," Soor panics.

Soor is a highschooler, she's recently turned 17. "Soor" in this world means "Weak" quite fitting for her inability to use magic. She has difficulty at school, given the fact that her family wasn't the best at wielding magic. Today was the day where she was going to meet with one of the Legends. The Legends aren't humans, although they look like humans. In the beginning of times, they gave a piece of their powers to humans, curious as to how they will manage their new powers. The Legends after the firsts ones no longer do this kind of stuff anymore since over 95% of the population are born with powers.

The reason why she wanted to meet with one of this people was to sacrifice something of hers in exchange of powers, though this plan went south once her bullies saw her outside. Soor knew that if she didn't escaped the bullies anytime soon, she will get "discarded" just like the other people before her. She didn't want for anyone to know what she will do, but at this point, she has no other options then to bolt through the forest. Luckily enough, anyone who enters this forest are unable to use their powers, which means that she will be safe in there.

"Out of all days, why it had to be today!?" Soor looks at the map she holds.

Looking at the map and trying to avoid the bullies proves difficult for Soor, but this is now a life and death situation, so she has no choice on the matter. The good thing is that she's very athletic and most people that weilds magic tend to be not as athletic as her. After running for almost an hour she finally found the place she was searching for.

"Thank goodness! For a second I thought I was a goner," Soor stops to catch her breath, which was a mistake on her part.

"Soor, come here!" the bullies yell.

They were too close for her comfort. Without a second to waste, she kneels down on one of the many statues in this area and prays for help. She didn't care who helps her, whether the Legend was cruel or not, all she wanted was to be out of there and have some powers. The bullies footsteps grew closer, so Soor prays faster. Cold sweat runs down her face and back as she is running out of time.

Suddenly, a green light enfolds her and lifts her in the air. Soor is afraid of heights, so she closes her eyes. In the blink of an eye, the scene in front of her changes and she's in a different place. She seems to be in someone's livingroom. In front of her there's a handsome man with blue hair, green eyes. and pale skin. His irises were completely green with no pupil. His face shows no sign of emotion, and yet, his features were gentle. He wears a blue and green kimono. He causally sips coffee as he gazes at her.

"This is surprising. It's been so long since I've summoned by a human," he says.

Soor's mouth opens, but she couldn't say a word. She's heard about Legends being inhuman, but she never heard about them looking so... beautiful. For her, the man in front of her looked like a doll.

When there was no response, he tilts his head, "So? Aren't you going to tell me the reason why you've summoned me? My time is gold after all."

Soor snaps out of it, "I've read that Legends can give powers to humans in exchange of something..."

She traces off, not knowing how to continue the sentence. He sets the coffee mug on the table as if knowing where this conversation was going.

"I see... But have you heard about what we ask of humans of the opposite gender?" he asks, his expression unchanging.

Soor gulps, she never heard about what they ask for, and yet, here she is. She starts to worry what he will ask of her. He stands up and sits beside her.

"Legends no longer give their powers to humans but, I will tell you about a tradition that used to exist years ago..., " he looks at the ceiling as if he was remembering a distant memory, "... When a Legend came of age, a human was selected to be their partners..."

"Is that so... and what does that has to do with this?" Soor asks nervously.

"Is he asking me to be his bride? No, there's no way!"

He turns to look at her, "You are an impatient one aren't you? ... Well, the reason why these partners were selected weren't for both Legends and humans to be together. It was only for child bearing, nothing else. However, most of the females died during or before child birth, so this tradition was banned out of guilt. I think the story was enough to give you an idea of what I'm asking for, do we have a deal? "

When he finished, Soor trembles. She knew exactly what he was asking of her, which made her uncomfortable.

"We need nothing else from humans, so this is the only sacrifice that we accept," he states while waiting for her response.

Soor has no choice in the matter. Nobody can protect her nor her family, so she feels like this is the only way to protect herself.

Soor sights, "We... have a deal."

Hearing her response, he stands up and hold his hand out. She grabs his hand and he leads her to his bedroom.

"Is this your first time? You know, having intimacy with a man?" he asks.

"... yes ..." she replies.

"What a way to have your first time..." he responds with a tinge of guilt.

He turns around to face her and caress her face, "Don't be afraid, everything will be fine."

-The next day

Soor wakes up in her bedroom, as if the events the day before never happened, well, except for the pain she feels and the only thing covering her body which was her blanket. Tears well up in her eyes, it's done. While she will get accepted by society now that she has powers, she will get rejected by her boyfriend and friends since they will think that she cheated on her boyfriend on purpose. And she didn't even had to use a pregnancy test as the weird feeling she has on her stomach was evidence enough of her pregnancy. She didn't want to get out of bed, she felt ashamed and disgusted by herself.

"But it was my choice..."

She tries to get out of bed, but in vain. In the end, she gives up and stays on the bed...
