Ethan Seller

(CW-)

My childhood best friend Leo -also my first love- was sitting with me, Chip, and her friends in the cafeteria at lunch. Leo and I were in a relationship at the time, together for 2 years.

We are holding hands under the table, enjoying the company of one another, and enjoying the conversation we were having with my sister and her friends.

Our anniversary was soon.

"So, let's go out this weekend," Leo said, turning his head towards me with a huge smile plastered on his lips. I let go of his hand, using it to push the stray hair out of his face, returning his smile.

"Of course, where would you like to go? The Alfredo place that you love so much?" I asked with a raise of my eyebrows. Leo nodded and rested his head on my shoulder, his hand finding its way to mine again.

"Okay, lover boys," Chip called out from across the table. "After school, let's all go to the mall and do some shopping." Her friends cheered loudly in agreement.

"I'll drive," Leo stated with a straight face.

Chip's face fell "Remember the last time you drove us someplace? We almost got into a car accident!! So, hell no. Better for our safety that Ethan drives."

Leo dramatically placed a hand against his chest as if he had been stabbed, letting out a very loud gasp, "I do not drive that bad! How dare thou question my driving." he said in a very melodramatic tone, turning his head away from Chip, using his hands to wipe away his fake tears.

"Sweetie, you drive like a madman," I said with a light chuckle.

"Not you too~" he cried out defeatedly.

Everyone laughed together and continued to feast on their lunch. I looked around our table and noticed we were missing someone. "Chip, have you seen Raven?" I asked my sister; she shook her head and continued her conversation.

That is weird. He should have been here by now.

The thought left as soon as the doors to the cafeteria slammed open. The cafe went silent as everyone's heads turned toward the door.

A boy stood there with his hands up, looking scared.

Then, a gunshot rang across the entire cafeteria. The boy's body fell onto the ground as blood spilled. Screams sounded throughout the entire cafeteria.

"Get down!"

I quickly moved toward Leo and held him firmly on the ground. More gunshots sounded. I looked underneath the table and saw my sister crying and shaking. "Come over here," I whispered, urging her to come over here so I could protect her. She crawled towards me; I wrapped my arms around her.

"Shhh," I hushed, "Do not cry, everything will be okay. Your big brother is here." I tried to sound as reassuring as possible, but the gunshots sounded like they were getting closer. I am scared, I do not want to die. I do not want my family to die.

With my hands trembling, I set my sister down next to Leo.

"E-Ethan, what... are you doing?" Chip stuttered in a shaken voice.

Ignoring her, I looked over at Leo. he looked just as scared as I felt. I quickly grabbed his face and kissed him like it was the world's end. As the gunshots got closer, I let go of his face and backed away, standing up.

Leo's pupils dilated. "No! Ethan do not!" he shrieked.

Ignoring him, I turned my attention to the shooter. I stood there in shock, "R-Raven?" I questioned, surprised by the one behind the gun.
