I saw this idea on tt so I wanted to make it longer and add Dream to it because I can 💆‍♂️

"Honey! Jared's at the door!" I heard my mom yell from downstairs.

"I'm almost done! Tell him there's a lapel flower on the hallway table!" I responded, adding the finishing touch of lipgloss to my makeup. Me and Jared have been dating since sophomore year. Now we're seniors and he's been great. It's our last homecoming so I wanted to make it more memorable than any other school dance.

I sprinted down the staircase to the foyer of my house and waved to him while putting on my heels. I took one last look at my bloodred dress in the mirror, and walked to the living room.

"Hey Jared" He was sitting on the couch looking at me. I leaned down and kissed him on the cheek.

"You look nice" He complimented. I blushed and thanked him, moving into the kitchen where my mom waited for a goodbye hug.

"Bye mom, I'll have Jared drive me back tonight, ok?" She nodded and I saw a tear in her eye. "Mom, don't cry. I'm not leaving forever."

"I know, but you're just growing up." She sighed. "Ok. Have fun sweetie, I might be asleep by the time you get back so please, keep it down." I nodded and walked back to the living room.

"Ready?" Jared asked. I nodded and he wrapped his arm around my waist, walking me out the door and into his dad's black convertible.

When we arrived, people in gorgeous dresses and suits were already filing into the gymnasium. Jared hopped out and handed his keys to a valet and patiently waited for me to get out and follow him into the gym.

It ticked me off that he didn't open the door for me, but not everyone gets a perfect boyfriend. Most of them are flawed, I know that.

Once we made it inside, he immediately spotted his friends. He tapped me on the shoulder, "I'm gonna go say hi to them, I'll find you later." I nodded a little disheartened but decided to go find my friends. Before I broke my way into the crowd, my eyes locked onto Clay.

I'd be lying if I hadn't thought about it with him once in our relationship. Clay had a stupid crush on me in 8th grade, but I only found out around late freshman year, so I had assumed he had gotten over it.

He noticed I was staring and waved to me. I could've sworn there was a little pink dusted across his beautiful face. But maybe it was just the lighting.

I had been hanging out with my friend group all night. I hadn't seen Jared since he disappeared with the guys. Multiple slow dance songs went by, yet nothing. He didn't come "find me". I was feeling upset and my friends were doing the bests to keep my head up.
