(A/N) Y/N uses she/her pronouns and is described in a stereotypically feminine nature, if that makes you uncomfortable, this may not be the chapter for you, apologies. <3 Also, E/C is eye color.

I did a final twirl in my sundress, making sure it looked good from all angles. I tugged lightly on the ribbon holding my bun together, tightening it. My strange cottagecore-bisexual outfit seemed to fit well with the date I and Y/N had picked. She was gonna pick me up and drive us to this gorgeous flower field for a picnic lunch. I was incredibly excited but also very nervous. You see, I and Y/N had been dating for 6 years now, and I planned to propose to them today. I love her so much, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I reached for my bag which had my phone, wallet, and a few food items along with a plush blanket for us. I grabbed the small black velvet box off the table and slipped it into an inner compartment of my bag. I heard a car horn outside my door, alerting me that Y/N had arrived. I took a deep breath and opened the door to my front porch. The same white car I see every few days was parked on the road, Y/N's beautiful face hanging out the window. A cheesy smile pulled at her cheeks as she beckoned me into the car. I felt a soft smile spread across my own face. I ran down to the street and to the other side of the car and slid into the passenger seat.
"Hi, Niki!" Y/N beamed and kissed my cheek. My face turned autumn red.
"Hello beautiful!" I said, attempting to fluster her back.
"Niki, dear, you know that's not gonna work on me," I blushed more, spreading to my ears. Y/N chuckled under her breathe and started driving

We arrived at the secluded field and drove to a grassy part, parking the car directly in the grass. We stepped out and I got to have a proper look at Y/N’s outfit. Her dress was more traditional with a flowy, elegant white undershirt. Over it was a deep blue dress with lined stitching and a corset front. (A/N like this https://pin.it/22Kez3J ) She paired it with the old muddy Converses she’d worn  since we met back in freshman year at college. Y/N had just been some artsy, messy nobody, but today I was going to make her my fiancée.
“Nikiiiii, can you grab the basket from the trunk while I lay out a blanket?” Y/N hollered, breaking my train of thought.
“Yup, grabbing it now!” I yelled back. I walked to the back of the car, opening the creaky, dented trunk. Balanced atop the books, canvases, tools and old bottles was a wicker basket about the size of a breadbox. I grabbed it and rushed over to Y/N. She smiled and waved me over to the spot she picked.
“So, how’ve you been recently? I feel I haven’t seen you in forever,” Y/N said, I chuckled.
“Dear, it was only a few days, I was just out filming with Jack.”
“Well, screw that Jack guy! I want my Niki time, he can wait.” Y/n rolled on to my lap, looking up at me.
“Oh alright, I’ll let him know you goofball…” I playfully pushed them off me. Taking this as a challenge, she pounced back, knocking us back onto the soft grass beyond the blanket and crushing one too many tulips.  I glazed into her E/C eyes, encaptured by a swirl of clouded mysteries. I kissed her between the gorgeous orbs (Her oRbS) that graced her face. Red as a rose and pink as lilys, we sat up and made our way back to the picnic spot. Y/N opened the basket and passed out small loafs of fresh bread, a pastry assortment and some water. She pulled out the old champagne we bought the year prior for our 5th year dating anniversary.
"Why'd ya bring that, plan on driving back tipsy cutie?" I questioned.
"We both know you can't take alcohol well, unlike me. I'm a deadweight." Y/N snickered at my comment.
"Please darling, I've seen your drunk streams, you'd black out from a shot of brandy." She was unfortunately right. Nonetheless, we grabbed the elegant, long-stemmed glasses, sugar delicately pressed along the rim. I recognize these from our 3rd Christmas together. Now that I look around, so many of these objects hold such special memories. The blanket from our 5th date, star gazing. We bought the basket out thrifting. The dress I'm wearing was a gift from Y/N, although I'm not surprised she has forgotten.
"Here ya go, one magic glass for my magical fiancée." Y/N handed me a glass.
"Thank you Y/N dear… wait, fiancée?" I looked up to face her. Y/N stood up, only to kneel back down and fished out a lavender velvet box. I nearly threw the glass, not caring about spillage. Tears sprung to my eyes as she revealed the delicately crafted golden band with embedded rose quarts.
"N-Niki, I love you so much. The past 6 years with you have been phenomenal to say the least. Will you make me the happiest woman alive, and marry me?" Y/N too was tearing up. I started laughing, hugging my sides. Y/N's face fell, fearing I was mocking her. I reached into my own bag and pulled out the velvet box I had as well brought, revealing the silver *gemstone of choice* embedded ring.  Y/N stood up fully and began laughing as well. Through the laughter, we found each other's eyes. Quietly, nearly inaudible, we reached leaned in close and whispered to one another,
"Yes…"

(A/N) This is my longest one-shot ever and it kinda killed me to write but here yah go, fucking simps <3
