1. Watch youtube/netflix shows such as Top Gear (UK) or Wheeler Dealers - one is more for entarteinment while the other one goes deeper - fix or modify the veichle. Pick what intrests you more!
2. Fall in love with a car. How can you like cars if you dont have a one or two favourite models? For me, the respective cars are Ford Gran Torino 1971 and Nissan Skyline r34.
3. Read books. Trust me here, this may not sound fun at all, but I'm sure that your local library has a couple of handy books that will definetly help.
4. Play video games, but the ones with realistic crashes. Forza Horizon is ruled out immediately because of the unrealistic crashes. I recommend Richard Burns Rally. It's an old game which was amde back in 2004, but it's very very realistic. Assetto Corsa is a VERY big recommendation too, it being probably the most realistic car game there is. F1 2022 is a good one too, but it more focuses on the formula one aspect of things. The last one I'll recommend isn't that popular - it's Live For Speed. It's an old game too, but it's actually the first one I've ever played and it may have just been the game which got me into racing.
5. Watch motorsports. Nascar, racing tours and rallies are the best ones to begin with - you'll learn the models and how the cars work, how the steering works and what a car can handle. F1 is a recommendation too but it's alreayd something else than just casual car racing.
6. Watch car movies. I know, most of them aren't realistic crash-wise, but your knowledge about cars may rise if you watch the ones I'm recommending: Fast and Furious - the crashes arent that realistic but it's still a very very iconic movie. The Love Bug is a very good one too. Grand Prix and Senna are good ones too (the latter one being more of a documentary) but they're about F1 - so watch those if you're into them.
7. Just get out in the internet, try joining forums or discords and ask people about stuff that you want to know. Most of them wont judge you althrough there are some odd ones in ever fandom.
