"je t'aime... tu es tout pour moi," you muttered to yourself over and over, making sure those words were engraved in your brain. today would finally be the day you would tell your true feelings to the boy you loved since middle school.

you, (y/n) (l/n), are anyone's basic high-schooler. you have friends, your grades are average.. you never thought you'd meet a guy like eli. you blended in with everyone else, but his kind nature could light up a room. and that's what you loved about him.

it all started when you had realized the brunette was in your french class. at first, you had payed him no mind, you had two other friends, emma and helena, in the class. so what? but then, a dreaded partner project came around. you were supposed to find a partner and have a conversation in french in front of the class. simple, right? but, emma and helena decided to pair up; and eli had swooped in and basically saved your sorry ass.

you didn't talk to him much, but he acted like as if he knew you when you were born. after you guys paired up, he said hi to you in the hallways, helped you carry things to your classes, and even let you sit with him at lunch. at some point, you thought that eli was a better friend than your original two.

as time went on and the due date approached, you guys became closely acquainted with one another. you'd never admit it to his face, but you sweat you felt a jolt of electricity shock your heart whenever he smiled at you. it felt.. good. you liked it, a ton more than you truly realized.

you continued to repeat the words to yourself, and after a while, you sighed, putting your face in your hands. was this truly a good idea? what if he didn't feel the same way. he wasn't as close with you as he was with fiona, even naib, or aesop.. you shook away your doubts and stood up, walking out of the empty classroom you'd been reciting your lines in.

minutes felt like hours and your french class finally rolled around the corner. the groups came up and preformed, but you barely payed any mind. you were too busy worrying; your anxiety was crushing you, as if a huge boulder was dropped onto your shoulders. your stomach sank, and your grip on your pencil tightened. you flinched in surprise when you felt a tap on your shoulder.. and it was none other than eli clark.

"(y/n)? are you doing alright? you seem worried," a small frown glazed his features, and you laughed a bit, waving your hands.

"oh, eli.. don't be such a worrywart, i'm just nervous to do this, especially in front of the class." that was only a half lie, in all honestly. clark nodded in response, and patted your shoulder gently.

"don't worry, it's not as bad as you're making it out to be, truly. plus, we'll be doing it together, so there's not much to worry about, is there?" he shot you a smile and there it was. another jolt zoomed throughout your heart and it took everything in you not to start squealing.

"y-yeah, right! thanks for your help, eli.." you cursed yourself under your breath for stuttering, and decided to divert your attention to the group preforming. but just your luck, they finished right when you started to pay attention. you sighed, giving a small applause, before praying in your head that you wouldn't be next. would you? what are the chances of that happening, anyway-

"(y/n) and eli, you're next!" you teacher called out, and you swore that whatever god was up in that clear blue sky had something against you. you let out a shaky sigh, and exchanged a glance with eli, before you nodded and stepped up.

"whenever you're ready," your teacher spoke, filing some papers, before folding her hands in front of her and watching you two. you shot a glance at your class, and at the lovely boy in front of you, before taking in a sharp inhale, and starting.
