Bakugo's POV

Bakugo sat on his desk, ignoring Aizawa Sensei's current discussion. He aimlessly played with his mechanical pencil and glanced out the window on occasions when suddenly...

"This will count as 30% of your grade, which means, you WILL fail if you don't participate," said Aizawa sensei without much emotion, however, putting emphasis on the "WILL fail".

This caught Bakugo's attention, as failing was never an option.

"This assignment is part of a social experiment. Research has shown that Hero course students have felt a lot of stress and struggle during their school years, stating the biggest challenge was having 'nobody to vent to'" added Aizawa

Tch... nobody to vent to... that's for the weak!

"Research has also shown that even though friends can help during difficult times, many young heroes are embarrassed to share their thoughts and feelings"

Sharing thoughts and feelings? Is this for real? Why would anyone even want to do that?!

Bakugo already hated this assignment. How was he was supposed to become the number one hero when this school only cared about his feelings? He didn't have to work on his feelings, he needs to work on his physical abilities and become stronger, stronger than anyone, significantly stronger than a certain green-haired boy who sat a few seats back.

"You will take this survey before and after in order to address the effectiveness of the assignment," Aizawa said without much excitement, he handed off a stack of paper that was slowly being passed towards the back of the row.

Bakugo grabbed one of the surveys and passed it to the person behind him without sparing a glance.

He looked down at the survey and couldn't help but to feel frustrated at the type of questions.

He rolled his eyes as he read the first statement.

"I lack companionship..."

Bakugo circled 'never' because he DIDN'T NEED ANYONE

Next question... "There is no one I can turn to"

NEVER! BECAUSE I DON'T NEED TO TURN TOWARDS ANYONE!

Bakugo was flying through the survey, the answer was always never, this was easy.

However, the questions started getting trickier.

"No one really knows me well." What is that even supposed to mean... whatever I'll skip it for now

"I feel left out." What...? I want to be left out...

"I am unhappy being so withdrawn." .......

"People are around me but not with me." .....

Bakugo stared at all the blank spaces he left unanswered until his eyes met the last question of the survey

"I feel alone"

Tch, This is fucking dumb... I'm not going to answer any of these questions.

Bakugo turned in the rest of the survey blank.

"Needless to say, do the assignment. You'll be writing your pen pal weekly for the next 6 weeks, now come out and pick a name from this box. There are a few suggestions of topics to discuss on the board. Please keep your name anonymous for the sake of the research. Your letter is due at the end of the period," said Aizawa as he slowly stepped into a yellow sleeping bag and zipped himself up.
