The Golden Orphanage

Chapter 1: The newbie

My parents died this year because of a crash. I had no blood or known relatives to take care of me so I was put into the adoption system and is being sent to an orphanage for the meantime, I was scared because I was all alone. I had packed my things and got into the car that was going to take me to the orphanage, soon after we arrived and when I got out of the car I was surprised that the orphanage was so big. It was called "The Golden Orphanage" and I was greeted by 2 people, a woman and a boy that looked the same age as me. The woman said "Hello Ms.Wilson! My name is Mrs. Phoebe Adamson, Headmistress of the orphanage and will be your economics teacher. The person standing beside me will be your tour guide." and then the boy said, "Hello, I'm Joseph Sonwill at your service! I'm in year 8 like you and I will be your tour guide for this week. Feel free to ask me questions and I hope to be good friends!". I was flustered at the sudden introduction and I said "Oh! Um Thank you for the introduction. I'm Patty Wilson and in year 8 as you just said" and we walked to the front and headed in. The inside was super big, it had 3 grand staircases and many rooms. While we walked I asked "For my first question, is this orphanage a school?" and Joseph said "Yes it is!, we get to have dorms and roommates. We also have a schedule and a few rules but I'll explain that later once I give the papers to you. One thing I need you to remember is DO NOT EVER GO OUTSIDE AT NIGHT.", I was confused because of why he said it like that but i just didn't mind it and did what he said. After Joseph was done showing me around he led me to the girl's dorms and gave me my schedule, night gown, necessities and my uniform then told me all the rules. I wore my uniform and went to the library to see what books they have in store. When I got there I was greeted by the librarian Ms.Porter. I had found the book I wanted and went to the counter to borrow it, she said" Ooh, Lit By Candlelight! This is such a good book, good choice Ms.Wilson." with a smiley face. I got back to my room and I suddenly heard someone knocking on my door, I answered it and it was the girl next to my dorm room. She said i will be her roommate from now on and brought all her things from the other room to mine, i asked with a surprised face "W-Wait! What's your name? I need to get to know you before I have a stranger as my roommate". She said "Oh I'm sorry I forgot to introduce myself, My name is Eluna and you can call me El or Luna. I'm in the same year as you."I introduced myself and we shook hands. It was finally night and I couldn't sleep so I sneaked out of my room and went to the library and took another book. I got out of the library and was carefully sneaking up the stairs. That's when I heard one of the sisters checking our rooms. I went back to my room before she could get to our dormitory and heard a conversation between the sisters. I heard them say "Sister Allen make sure none of the children are awake, the nightsters are coming.", i couldn't hear them well so i got closer to my door and that's when i heard screaming and I was surprised that none of the other children woke up. Sister Mia opened our door and I quickly got to my bed and pretended to sleep. When she got out of the room I couldn't sleep because I couldn't get the screaming out of my head, so I decided to read instead. I opened the book I found in the library and started to read it. I was thinking about what Joseph said earlier and thought maybe this is what he meant. I opened the book and in the between the pages were sentences of a student talking about the secrets of the orphanage......
