Battle of Alue(1) July 4-November 11 1642

the city of 265 000 People Went about their normal day, In the city some 133 000 Soldiers and 500 Tanks stood as protection, while at the Border, another 101 000 Men with 300 Tanks formed the Izomo Line, Named for the River, Further behind was the German 6th Army of 295 000 and 1 960 000 Muish Men in Reserves as well as 7700 Planes, None knew of the Horror that Was About to Begin.

Commander of the Alue Front, Marshal Frederick Von Otaheite Knew the enemy was coming and vowed to make them bleed for every step they took.He had Captured a Gra Valkan Spy some weeks ago who had Intel of the Operation call Code-named Sun, But they was always the chance these plans were Fakes, So he needed to tread carefully.

After Ludwig XIX Looked over the Plans he advised total readiness, Saying 'It is safe to assume the enemy intends to deliver a Blow at Alue in Due time'. For Now the Muish men waited.

They had placed in the city, all their long range artillery On the other side of the Alue river, where only 10% of the city lived.

But at 7AM Operation Code-named Sun Began right there when 3000 Tons of Bombs dropped on the city, Since the entire city was Hot due to it being summer and being made of Wood, The 90% of the city Exploded in a Violent manner, Turing the City to a sea of flames, by the time the flames ended, 68 000 Citizens and 14 000 Soldiers were killed, The city had been virtually destroyed in one fall swoop.

That same time saw the Gra Valkan begin their Frontal assault, 388 000 Men supported by 1200 Tanks Attacked along the 24KM front, supported by their 11 000 Guns, It was Total Surprised, Within Hours the Muish forces were fighting a Rearguard Action to pull back to the city some 38Km Away.

Operation 'Sun' Was simple.It called for the 1st Army and 17th Tank Corp to take Alue in a Frontal assault with Air support.The Gra Valkans Dashed ahead without much resistance, In just 1 Day they advanced some 18Km, Inflicting Over 28 000 Men KIA while only suffering some 3000 KIA in the same time frame.

The Retreat Gave a serious Blow to Muish Morale and as one HME News reel wrote.

'Alue, The Famed Café City, Will Hold out No longer than 1 week, Mu, No longer than 6 weeks after Alue's fall'

As the Advance continued, Muish Troops surrendered in growing numbers, By the Time July 6th Came around, Mu had already lost 48 000 of their 101 000 Original Men, And were now just 8Km From Alue, Making the City Just visible to the enemy Invader.As the Muish Army continued to retreat, Ludwig XIX Would Issue His famous Order 228.It gave word to a new slogan: Not one step Back!.

The Order read:

'All Talk About Us having No further Resistance after Alue , About Another City with such formidable defense, Another City that could beat the Invaders, All this Talk Must be eliminated. We will not tolerate any Commander Who allows their Units to Abandon their positions without orders. Panic Mongers and Cowards must be exterminated on the Spot.'

Many Approved of the order, Stating it should have been given at the Onset of the Battle, One Muish soldier wrote that If they had been given those orders, They would have not retreated from their positions.Many Thought the Order would prove Impossible to Enforce.

But Within Hours, the Muish Resistance became buckled, the 53 000 Men, 8Km From Alue, Held their ground, Forcing the Gra Valkans to finally begin what Alue would be famous for, Rattenkrieg or Rat War.The Advanced slowed and Fighting for individual Buildings became common very quickly.

The Front quickly Bogged down for the rest of July as the Gra valkans found it hard to pluck out the 53 000 Men from their Defensive Lines, Increasing their losses, But with Air Power, By July 28th, The Last of the Men were killed, After only losing so far a Low 33 000 Men and 100 Tanks compared to the Mu's of 101 000 and 300 Tanks, Alue looked like it would fall that day.
