Chapter 1.

I gave my mom a small smile before scurrying out the door and into the busy streets of Seattle. I hailed a cab in record time and directed them to the hospital where I was having my job interview.

I paid the man and nervously walked into Seattle's General Hospital.

I wiped my sweaty palms on my black slacks and approached the receptionists.

"Um hi, I'm here to meet Mr.Apollo for an interview" I said as the woman gave me a reassuring smile. She stood from her seat and guided me toward the elevator.

"What's your name?" She asked as we stood in silence waiting for the elevator to ding.

"Aurora Monroe, and you?"

"Esme Hunter, pleasure to meet you Ms.Monroe"

The doors opened, "You first" she said and walked in behind me.

"Usually we give our visitors or like you, a possible co-worker a map to the bosses office but I was requested to guide you here myself. Which shocked me at first but now I see why." Esme smirked and looked at me for a split second before turning back to the front.

Well, that was not weird or awkward at all.

We strolled past many occupied hospital rooms that contained sick people and that made me even more eager to get this job. I was born to be a surgeon. It was my destiny to help the ill.

"Almost there Ms.Monroe." Esme stated as she guided me through a door that led to another elevator.

"What is this? Some top secret office that shall not be known" I sassed to myself.

These heels were hurting my feet, my make-up was starting to sweat off, and my stomach was heaving from not being fed.

This was not a good start.

But I was going to make a good impression.

"Here you are" Esme stopped in front of a glass door that separated us from a long narrow hallway.

"We are not allowed to enter unless told otherwise. This whole floor is his and his only. He sure as hell makes that known. Well, good luck and knock 'em out tiger"she continued and left me dazzling to myself.

I took a deep breath and twisted the knob made of sterling silver.

"You got this Ro. You wanted this for so long. You're standing in your dream hospital." I chanted silently to myself, "You're standing in your dream"

I knocked on the door that had the name 'Caspian Apollo" headlined.

"Come in Ms.Monroe" a strong yet excited voice invited me in.

I opened the door and was pleased to be greeted with a friendly smile.

"Pleasure to meet you Dr. Apollo"

I didn't make eye contact at first.

I had seen photos of him and he was too beautiful for me to look at in this moment. I would lose all train of thought and embarrass myself.

"Look at me"

My head snapped up at that demanding voice but nonetheless, I looked him in his dark blue eyes.

He gave me a small smile and gestured his hand out to the seat across from his desk.

"Thank you" I said and quickly made myself comfortable.

"Let's get started, shall we?"
