"I'M SORRY!!" Jack shouted as he ran away from a large monster that was hot on his and Y/N's tail.

"DUDE! WE JUST WANNA GO TO THE STORE!" Y/N shouted over their shoulder at the blue monster as it ran towards them.

The monster roared as it stomped, causing it's foot to break the roof of the building the three were standing on and get stuck. It roared at the two again and bared it's teeth.

"Alright, fine!" Jack grinned, tightening his baseball glove and taking his bat out of his bag and looking to Y/N.

"Let's dance!" Y/N finished, grabbing their crossbow off their belt and pulling an arrow out of the quiver on their back. Y/N loaded the crossbow and aimed it at the monster as Jack smiled.

"Dude, your mom's here!" Jack said, making the monster look away momentarily. Jack and Y/N took the chance to run the other direction.

The monster looked at them as they ran and growled. Jack tried to jump to another building, but the beast had freed one of its arms and grabbed him out of the air.

"Jack!" Y/N shouted worriedly as the monster raised him to it's eye level and roared at him.

Jack tried being friendly and introducing himself, asking the monster's name. Y/N mentally facepalmed.

"BLAAAAARG!!!!" It roared in his face, slinging saliva all over the place.

Jack tried again to be buddy buddy with the thing but it growled lowly at him.

"okay, but you asked for it!" Jack stated, swinging his bat. It hit the monster's tooth and shattered into two pieces. The broken bat was now splintered and sharp.

"well, i'm gonna die," Jack stated before looking over at Y/N. Y/N quickly got an idea.

"Jack! His eye! It is the only thing not protected by thick hide! Hit it!" They shouted as they aimed their crossbow at the monster's lower right eye.

Y/N shot and Jack stabbed at the same time.

The monster reeled back in pain, letting out a blood curdling roar as it dropped Jack.

Jack fell through the roof of the store, his backpack luckily breaking his fall. Y/N jumped down, landing next to him and helped him to his feet. The two quickly looked around the store for something.

"Tiny screwdriver, tiny screwdriver," Jack mumbled to himself.

"Jack! over here!" Y/N shouted, grabbing a package off the shelf.

Blarg roared and stomped down just next to where Y/N was standing.

"Y/N!" Jack shouted, running towards them. He grabbed Y/N's arm and pulled them out of the store, running down the street. Jack quickly pulled Y/N behind a large buss stop and the two paused to catch their breath.

Jack let go of Y/N's wrist and peered out from behind the wall, looking at the monster as it threw cars and stomped around. Y/N peeked out to see something in the road. Jack's bookbag! He had dropped it while running away and hadn't even noticed!

"Okay, show me your good side, if you have one," Jack remarked quietly, holding up his camera. Jack liked documenting and taking pictures of every monster that tried to kill them. But Y/N didn't mind, it gave them a chance to look back on the information and figure out more about the creatures that had dropped into their world a little over a month ago.

Jack began to describe it as he took pictures.

"Blarg; about 40 feet tall, stinks like three day old flu barf, razer sharp claws." He said. Jack lowered his camera to watch the monster as it picked his pack off the road and held it close to it's nose. It was smelling it!

"huh, never seen that before," Y/N whispers, looking at Jack.

They watched as it then ate his backpack whole! It then sniffed the air for a moment before picking up a car and hurling it directly towards the two. Y/N quickly pulled Jack behind the wall as the car skitted past them.

"We better go!" Y/N shouts, running away down the street, Jack right behind them.

Y/N's POV

"Monster apocalypse day 42, this is our home," Jack said to the drone. He was vlogging again.

I sighed and climbed into the tree house as he spoke to the camera more.

About a minute later, he came rushing in and set up the camera on the desk before giving a basic rundown of the apocalypse. I shrugged and went over to the cabinet to put away my crossbow and then went to get a snack. Fighting monsters and almost getting killed sure works up an appetite.

About half an hour later, I walk into the living room to see Jack explaining his 'amazing feats' to the camera.

When I heard him mention the achievement "mad hatter" I walked over and patted him on the head.

"I totally got more than you dude, you lost that hard," I laughed. Jack grumbled and continued to talk to the camera. I sat down on the couch and watched as he spoke to the camera for a while.

Then, he began talking about his crush, June del-toro

I rolled my eyes and decided I'd start working on fixing the walkie talkie he had broken on day one. Jack went outside with the camera as I sat down at a table and started working on repairs.

It was pretty busted but I was sure I could fix it with what we had, now that we had a small enough screwdriver as well.

Soon enough, Jack came back inside, though I hadn't even noticed he left in the first place, as it started to get dark out.

"Finally, here, you finish repairs, my hands hurt." I say, handing the almost done walkie and the screwdriver to Jack. He took them and sat down. I watch him work for a while until-

"D-d-d-d! Bajingo!" Jack shouts as the walkie shocks to life. I grab his shoulders excitedly, finally we could reach Quint! He is our best friend and the smartest person we know.

"Captain Danger and marshal heat-ray to corporal tiger-pants!" Jack excitedly announced into the walkie talkie.

Radio silence.

"Quint, are you out there buddy?! Hello?" I say, snatching the walkie. Jack looks at me with a worried expression as I return the same anxious look.

"Maybe he is doing an experiment, or on the toilet?" I say nervously, shrugging my shoulders.

"Or both." Jack added with a light laugh. He always tried to lighten the mood.

We both let out a small laugh and then looked at the walkie.

I set it down on the table in front of us and we sat there for a good 10 minutes watching. Waiting. Hoping.

I watched as Jack looked at the walkie, his face sad and his eyes glossy as if he were holding back tears.

"We should go to bed." I suggest, holding my hand out for Jack. He looks at me and sighs, taking my hand and standing up.

Jack lied down on a pile of dirty laundry and I went upstairs to my room. It had a bunkbed to the right and a table in the middle of the room.

I climbed up to the top bunk and pulled my blanket over me. In a few minutes, I was fast asleep.
