Just even talking to Rachael made me tired, luckily no other customers came in that day. I didn't end up cutting her hair because I convinced her not to. Her parents are split and her dad is a raging alcoholic. She is trying to change her identity so she can run away and live somewhere overseas. She lost her virginity last night to get back at her dad, and immediately regrets it. Because she is only eighteen, I tried to tell her to smooth things over first with her dad, and just see what happens. I said she was welcome to come back anytime she wanted and just talk. She said she would try.
I knocked off work at about 5 and drove home. As soon as I opened door my two favourite things in the world jumped up at me. My dogs, Macaroni and Champas. I know, I know a little cheesy. oh my god did I just really think of that? Anyway, Macaroni is a small brown beagle, and Champas is a golden staffy.
The name Macaroni came from a date that ended really wrong with the breeder. I went to pick up the dog and Ryan asked me to stay for dinner. I kindly said yes and we started talking. We lost track of time and started to smell smoke from the kitchen. He realised he left the macaroni in the oven for too long. It turned out burnt and terribly black. We ended up getting pizza and never saw each other again.
I already had Champas for a week or so before I decided the name. So one night I was drinking some wine by myself from a recent bad date with a boy, (he cheated) and I fell asleep on the couch watching episode after episode of Pretty Little Liars. I didn't recall drinking much of the glass and in the morning there was a small stain on the carpet. Sure enough Champas was sleeping right next to it.
Now if you noticed in those stories, I am not that good with men at all. In both stories I have a bad ending on the date, I've been planning to get another dog soon, just hopefully this one doesn't involve a boy.
I quickly fed the dogs dinner, made some soup from a can, grabbed my phone and laptop. I also made a platter of desert for myself so then I wouldn't have to make two trips. God, I am so lazy. Balancing awkwardly all the things in my hands I sat in front of the TV and turned it on. I quietly ate my soup and played with Macaroni, not really watching the TV at all. I checked my laptop and phone, and as usual no messages appeared. It's not that I don't have friends and all, but I don't know, it's just easier not to have to worry about answering all the texts and stuff. I guess I've learnt to accept that.
I read a couple of chapters of my book, ate a whole lot of chocolate and looked at random stuff online. I guess this is how most of my evenings go, but I don't really care anymore. I didn't have work tomorrow so I settled for a nice sleep in.
