Katya stood watching Vicki fight with Tera's father in horror. She understood that her friend was protecting her other friend but she didn't understand why if could have come to this. She didn't know what to do.

She knew not to join the fight, even though she wanted to help Vicki, but she didn't want to get hurt. So she turned her attention to Tera. Tera was locked in her bedroom with no way of getting out. She glanced around the floor around the door to the bedroom, gaze locking on a cell phone. Tera must have dropped it when her father threw her in there.

Call the police, Katya suddenly thought. But wouldn't Tera's father notice and come at her?

She dashed outside, trying to be as quiet as possible. She glanced at Vicki for a fraction of a second before closing the door behind her. Vicki could handle herself until the police came to help.

"911, what's your emergency?" The friendly woman on the other side of the phone answered.

"Please, can you send someone to help us? My friend is locked in her bedroom by her father and my other friend is trying to help... she's fighting with Tera--I mean, her father. I don't know what to do." Katya stuttered. Her voice was shaking from fear. She took a deep breath.

"What's your address?" The woman sounded concerned.

Katya stated the address, attempting to sound calm. A loud crash came from inside the house, causing her to jump and gasp. Her breathing raced.

"What is your name?" The woman on the telephone said. She must have heard the crash because she sounded more worried than before

"Katya"

"Katya, it's going to be okay. I have units coming to your location in a matter of five to ten minutes. Remain calm and stay outside where you are safe."

"My friend is in there. I can't let anything happen to her." Katya's voice sounded lifeless.

"Please remain outside. If we need to send medical teams we will, but please stay outside."
