The Move

   I finished packing all of my things into the van with Eddie's help as my mother drove off with no turning back. I was too busy thinking of how to fit all of my things into just a few bags to notice that half of the house was already packed up.       Alexandria put her last bag into the van with a huff escaping her lips, "Alright that looks like all of it" Eddie spoke up as we all turned our glances towards him. I started to walk towards the passenger side of the van to get in next to Alexandria as she'd already hopped in herself. Eddie jumped into the driver seat and turned the key into the ignition. As we drove off to Steve's I turned around for one last look at the place. I slowly turned back towards my sister and looked at her as she looked out the window turning around to give me a faint half smile, knowing she wouldn't have to fight for our parents attention any longer. "How are you feeling?" I asked her quietly, "y/n, am I wrong for feeling happy about this?" her only being 17 and having to grow up too fast along side me I knew i had to let her know that she was feeling the same as I, "Well I wouldn't say so, to be honest with you, i'm feeling the same as you, I want you to know that i'm always here as I always have been if you wanna confide in me for absolutely anything." I took her hand in mine and gave her a toothy smile, I turned my glance towards the window but not before looking into the rear view mirror and saw Edie taking a peek at me before turning his focus back to the road. That was weird. we soon turned into Steve's driveway and started to make our way out of the van to grab our things.

  Everything was out of the van and in the house, Alexandria let me have the bigger room though I argued against it, most of my items are small trinkets and clothes along with some plants, Eddie helped me move in the room, making small talk as he tried to help me set up my bed frame, "So i haven't formally introduced myself to you," he smiled in my direction as he let out a nervous laugh, he stuck out a shakey hand to me and told me his name, we started to get lost in conversation as we figured out the we knew most of the same people, "if you don't mind me asking, why aren't you around the kids and Alexandria much? I know you and Steve are friends though I haven't seen you with him much either." I thought about deciding against telling him the reasons as to why I was so closed off, but I did anything thinking nothing of it, "For the most part Steve and I usually hang out here or at the video store, I don't find much interest in going out with the kids while they go to the arcade and the mall, I find comfort in other things like music and drawing, "You gonna draw me soon?" he let out a laugh and posed like rose from the titanic, receiving a snorted laugh from me, "that's cute" he smiled showing his dimple I didn't know he had, how'd i never notice it? it was kind of attractive.. "Hey y/n?" Eddie waved his hand in from of my face trying to snap me out of my thoughts I noticed after that I was staring a little to hard, "huh?" I question, "like what you see?" he stood up and smiled down at me causing me to turn red and hide my face, I let out a small laugh, "Ha uhm shall we finish?" he looked hurt but sat back down and helped me finish setting up the frame. Soon after Steve and Eddie brought in my mattress and helped me make the bed. After everything was finished being out in its place we all went to check on Alexandria's room. She was basically done with her things and we all went back downstairs to say our goodbyes and get settled in. I walked outside following Eddie, Alexandria and Steve staying behind to set up a movie for us while also preparing for dinner as it was getting close to that time, Before getting in his van Eddie turned to me and let out a nervous breath, "Hey uh would you be interested in coming over for a movie later? Only if you're interested, I mean I know you said you don't like going out bu-" I cut him off as I laughed and put a hand on my stomach his eyes widened and I stopped my actions noticing he thought I was rejecting him, "Eddie i'd love to, pick me up at 9?" I had to give myself time to eat dinner and get ready, "Sure sweetheart, i'll see ya later," he winked and smiled down at me as he got into the van. I waved watching him back out and head home, I stood there for a few seconds taking in everything that just happened, am I crushing on Eddie Munson? The guy who's only stolen a few glances at me from across the halls at school, The guy who's outfit is pretty much the same everyday, though I won't lie, he made up for it by smelling fresh everyday, my thoughts cascade over my head as I come back to reality walking into the house, I guess I didn't realize how long I was outside, smelling dinner already prepared, "Hey, let's eat!" Steve offered a smile and motioned towards the food on my plate, preparing myself for questions i sat down and grabbed my fork, Alexandria spoke up, "So, got anything to tell us?"
