LOUIS' POV
I couldn't sleep.
The look on Harry's face after I had beaten the guy in the bar up was unreadable. I couldn't tell what he was feeling by looking at him. I just prayed I hadn't made him uncomfortable by calling him my Haz.
I didn't want our friendship to end because of one tiny slip-up I made. I enjoyed his presence too much. It was getting to the point where I couldn't imagine a life without him. Whenever I thought about getting married or having kids, Harry was always in the picture. The best man, my kid's godfather. But for some reason, he was what stood out in those dreams, not the person I was marrying, but Harry.
After we left the bar that night, Harry stayed silent. All I heard was the annoying, poppy music playing dimly from the speakers of the car. I looked over at him every chance I got, and every time he looked deep in thought. His brows furrowed with his elbow resting on the console and his head sitting in his hand. His fingers, littered with rings, were softly grazing his upper lip.
I had to force myself to look away, cursing myself for getting distracted, yet again, by those lips. I kept my eyes on the road after that. Only looking at Harry one last time when I pulled up in front of his house. He muttered a quiet thank you and I offered him a soft smile.
HARRY'S POV
After Louis had dropped me off last night, I tried my best to fall asleep, but I couldn't. The spitting image of Louis beating up a random guy in the bar for me was enough to keep my head spinning so fast, my eyes just couldn't bring themselves to shut.
It was confusing.
Louis was confusing.
I never thought Louis would return the feelings I had for him, but the night out had my mind spiraling into deep perplexity that I didn't know how to climb my way out of. I knew Louis wouldn't hesitate to throw hands at anyone who insulted someone close to him. That wasn't was causing the confusion, it was the fact he called me his.
I needed to call Liam. It felt nice knowing I had someone to abide in about all of this Louis mess.
He answered after a couple of rings, and I tried to contain the tears that had started to fall as I wrapped my head around everything.
"Hey, Li." I said, a sniffle making its way onto the other end of the phone.
"Hey, Haz. Are you okay, did Louis hurt you? Because I swear I will-"
"No, he didn't hurt me, Liam. Just, he's confusing me." I interrupted, before a I let out a broken sob.
"Hey, hey. Haz. Don't work yourself up, okay? Tell me what happened." Liam said in a calm tone.
I took a couple of deep breaths before telling Liam everything that had happened the night before.
"Shit, Haz. I think he might like you." Liam told me when I was finished.
"I don't know. Louis would do that for any of his friends." I reasoned.
"Yeah, maybe the beating the living shit out of someone part, but I don't know about the whole my Haz thing. I mean, he wouldn't call me his Liam, you know?"
"Yeah, I guess. But I don't want to assume anything. Because I really like our friendship and I would want my stupid feelings ending it."
"Hey, your feelings are not stupid, okay. And I think I might have an idea." Liam told me, that sparked my interest.
"Ok, what is it?" I asked, eager.
"What if you go on a date with that guy, I had mentioned a couple weeks ago, and see if Louis gets jealous." Liam proposed.
"I mean, it's a good idea, but I don't want to toy with that guy's emotions like that."
"Oh, don't worry, he has a boyfriend. I just said that back then because I had a feeling there was something between you and Louis, and I wanted to see if he got jealous."
"What? You knew?" I asked, my jaw dropping.
"Not really, I just had a feeling. Anyways, his name is Nick and I told him about your situation a couple of days after you confessed your love for Louis."
"Wait, Liam, you told someone?" I asked.
"Don't worry, I didn't say your names. And he doesn't know any of our other friends, which will make the plan even better!"
"Ok, I agree, as long as you make sure he and his boyfriend are completely aware of the situation and are okay with it." I said.
"Yeah, of course!" Liam assured.
We talked for a couple more minutes before saying our goodbyes. I could now rest a little easier knowing I was doing something about my feelings.
