Lauren pulled up to Lori's school parking lot and hopped out of the car. Camila grabbed her crutches and carefully stepped out. Lauren took Lori from her car seat and they all started walking together toward the classroom. Lori smiled as her teacher approached.

"Hello, Lori," she said happily, "Did you have a good Christmas?"

"Yep," Lori said, nodding and craning her neck, "Is Paul here?"

"He's over at the building block station," the teacher said, "Do you wanna go play over there?"

Lori nodded again and turned to look at Lauren and Camila.

"Bye!" Lori said happily, waving and rushing over to see her friend.

"It's funny, some kids have a hard time after holidays and some get right back into the groove," the teacher said, grinning.

"She's been looking forward to coming back," Lauren said, smiling, "Peggy, I want you to meet my fiancé, Camila Cabello Hansen."

"Nice to meet you," Peggy said politely, foregoing the usual handshake as Camila was on crutches.

"I've added her to Lori's emergency contacts and to the parent's page in the office," Lauren said, "And I wanted to let you know personally that you can talk to her about anything concerning Lori here at school."

"I was hoping to drop her off and pick her up sometimes," Camila said, shrugging, "But I'm stuck on these for a while so I'm not a lot of help."

"I've done crutches, after a skiing mishap," the teacher said, sympathetically, "It's tough. I hope you're feeling better soon."

"Thanks," Camila said, grinning as she watched Lori trying to build a tower with the blocks.

"Okay well, it was nice seeing you," Lauren said politely.

"You too," Peggy said, "and congratulations on the engagement."

"Thank you," Lauren said, smiling.

They left and returned to the car. Camila was a little bit winded from the walk and Lauren looked at her with a concerned gaze.

"I'm fine," Camila sighed out, "That was a longer walk than I expected."

"I told you we could bring the wheelchair," Lauren said, trying not to nag but a little aggravated Camila hadn't agreed it was necessary.

"I know, I should have listened," Camila said, "I'll rest when we get home."

They went back to the house and pulled into the driveway. Camila got out and went up the ramp Lauren had delivered to make it easier for Camila to get to the raised porch. Camila had been amazed when they arrived home from the hospital and Lauren already had the ramp and a special bed delivered and ready. The king-sized bed was split and adjustable so that Camila could be comfortable and still have Lauren nearby. Of course, Lori thought it was the best thing in the house and loved playing with the controls, driving Lauren crazy.

Camila walked inside and headed toward the bedroom. She noticed Lauren starting a pot of coffee and hesitated.

"You okay?" Lauren asked.

"Come with me," Camila said, motioning with her head toward the bedroom.

Lauren looked at her quizzically and followed her into the room. Camila sat on the high back chair in the bedroom and pulled off her shoe. She leaned back and unbuttoned the wide legged pants she had put on that morning over her brace.

"Can you help me get these off?" Camila asked Lauren, "I'm gonna get back in bed."

"Sure, baby," Lauren said, walking over and carefully helping get the pants down over the brace. Camila was wearing a plain white t-shirt and she reached underneath and took off her bra, pulling it through the sleeve. She stood with her crutches and moved toward the bed. The back of the bed was raised to almost a sitting position to help Camila get in and out. Lauren watched her as she sat on the edge and maneuvered herself into bed. She could see the outline of her nipples against the t-shirt.
