July 18 2022 - Quindale City
1pm O'clock.

Hey new journal of mine! I just moved to Quindale City yesterday and bought you at a local bookstore I hope one day will have my books in it! Well that or journals if books don't pay enough like mom said... Anyways! I'm right now sitting on a bench on campus, It's really hot outside, thank god I have my water bottle. I can't believe I'm starting anew in a complitely different city with new people and my family far away. Did I mention this city has super heroes and stuff? Yeah! I mean architectural wise it's a bit like Montreal, each bits of the city looks different from one another, some are more futuristic then the others but oh well.

I currently live in the S.H.S.H. Campus right now. It basically means School of Heroes, Scholars and History. I'm studying journalism since my mother believed literature was "not enough". I honestly can't believe she let me get into this school, there's literally people playing with fire, weapons and god knows what other powers there is. I saw a dude selling slushies made with his own ice, rumors says he dropped out of the school to pursuit his dreams as an ice cream vendor.

Oh yeah, I hear you reader... If there is even someone else then me reading this one day.. You might wonder why people have powers in Quindale and no where else?  It's complicated and there,s many rumors about what happened but so far the most common thing was an accident that happened during the winter 1944 which caused a rupture in the electric system of a lab up hills releasing lots of gas and chemicals around. Even if the folks tried evacuating, those who been in contact with it were ill for a few weeks but then began to develop powers. Sadly they fixed the gas and chemical issues long ago and only those with the genetics mutated can transfer said genes and powers. I guess that means no powers for little old me.

Oh god My mind is going all the places! It's just a lot to take in for my first day. I could talk a bit more about the school and the places surrounding it.

The S.H.S.H Campus is Separated in 4 buildings which include the science center up the hill. The Science center has been renovated multiple times and is now the most futuristic thing you will ever see. Not a lot of people have access to it, but those who have are granted free flying skateboards or bikes! How cool is that?! Anyways, you'll also see a lot of trucks go up the hill with robot parts, all the guards up there except two are robots. I heard only a few teachers, scientists and prime hero students can go up there.

Speaking of hero students, they have the biggest modern building of the campus, sadly, normies like me are not allowed in case we get in danger. Hero students have a hierarchy based on three things: Courage, Selflesness and Grades. Prime hero students are the ones with the best grades. Elite hero students are those who were the most courageous in trainings and The Angels are those who's selflessness is admired by all. I heard most of the hero students are filthy rich and those who can travel fast can live outside the town and still study here! Too bad I'm just a normie which means I'll probably never go in that building. I wonder what's in there...

"Normies" is a therm used to speak about students who have no powers whatsoever. Often exchanged students who seek to study history, science, the arts or in my case journalism. We have a building for us that used to be an old cathedral rebuild to have classes in it, a gym, an auditorium and of course a lot of computer lab with a limited access wifi, which will thankfully help me with my studies. They also have coffee machines everywhere in the building, it's going to save my life!

Lastly there is the common dorm building. The first floor is sort of like a food court of a mall, there's places to sit, many food chains including a bubble tea shop I'd love to try later today. On the second floor there's the dorm admission and hall where everyone gets their keys. If you are wealthy enough or have saved enough money for it, you can get a personalized room based on what you like. If not well.. You end up in a small studio like me that you can decorate to your liking. The good thing about this is that I have no dorm mates, which is perfect by me. I luckily got one window with the best view in all campus, being able to see all the buildings including the Science Center on the Hill. I just wish my mom was there... But hey! Not everything in life can be perfect!

Oh! Before I go, I forgot to say, the dorm rooms are mostly full of "normies" since the hero students are most likely citizens of the city and can go to their own home. Those who do stay in the dorms are a bit bullied by the others... I wish it wasn't the case but yesterday I heard a fight breaking out while I was unpacking my stuff... Hopefully tomorrow I'll have more intel on this strange place for you Journal, or reader. Goodnight!
