Hey journal!
I finally decided to become friends with folks from my class. Took me a while due to the amount of social anxiety this school provides. I mean we are around 70 people in my class and we can't talk when the class is in session, unless it's a team project. So today, I decided to cheer up, fess up and talk to people.
I became friends with three people:
Alexa, she is a pro when it comes to technological search, solving riddles and spying people. She is a bit creepy at times due to her stalker-ish demeanor but it's all in good thoughts:
"You never know if a villain kidnaps you, stalking a lot of people may help you know who that person is and where you are as a 'powerless' journalist! Just trust me ok?"
Then there's Pierre, he's a transfer student from Quebec, people often think he is french which piss him off. I became friends with him because I shared a granola bar with him. It just so happened to be his favorite. He honestly isn't strong when it comes to.. everything... But he makes us laugh and knows every spot where you can skip classes.
Finally, I met Ray. Ray are a special individual. They are often seen reading a book in the shadows not really wanting to get noticed by either the students or the teachers. They have short black hair and heterochromia eyes. I heard they are the love child of a recently deceased hero and a french model with the same eyes as them. I originally didn't want to bother them, but today in the corridor, they fell and drop their books. I just had to help them get back up. I could hear Timothy snickering as he removed his foot from were it was: He made them fall.
Victor, the bubble tea shop bully, finally realized who he was when I read the school's Gazette with the headline: "Victor Spades marks another goal! Making his parents proud at last?".
He's the classic blond haired popular boy everyone either loves or loathes. I don't know what was his problem with ray but I was done.
"What the FUCK is your problem, Victor?" I lashed out at him, word for word.
"It's Vic Spades for you, normies. Yeah, I include you too Ray, you must be such a disgrace to your father."
That asshole crossed the line this time, I saw him bully people like me for the past 3 weeks, sure at first I didn't act because I was scared of him and his ability to throw literal fireballs out of his hands, but now he was insulting not only Ray but a great hero who died to save his own parents and city from a meteor. I got up raised my hand and went to slap him, waiting for that sweet sound when my hand would smack that smirk off his face...
But ray hold my arm.
"I-It's ok... He's right... Please don't hit him and get in trouble because of me... We're sorry we didn't see you there, V-Vic.." They'd say, doing a head bow before dragging me away so I couldn't hit him.
I argued with Ray but I saw they were crying, they explained it reminded them of their parents when they came out as nonbinary. They had a huge fight and broke off. They now sadly feared loud noises and crowds because of it. I tried to comfort them but they continued sobbing and rambling about their life. I listened, and when I felt they didn't need to say anything more, I decided to bring them to the bubble tea shop and pay them a drink. They then explained the whole story, or at least what they felt necessary to vent.
"My dad, the hero code named Karma, was a hero able to see the future and had telekinetic abilities. His real name doesn't matter now, since he died saving us right before you settled here. He knew he was bound to die protecting us this way, he had visions of it each night. That's why he decided to marry my mother. He knew she would keep an eye on me while I was gone. Sadly for him, his foresight was limited and he couldn't guess that out of all the possible futures out there, I'd decide to come out as non-binary. Of course, he took it very well, he even went shopping with me before we went home to tell my mother this. She... didn't take it well, at all... The plan was for me to go with my mother in Paris when I grow older, since I didn't develop powers, it seemed safer at the time to send me in a power free city. Now that I came out tho, way too late before my father could change plans, my mother didn't want to do anything with me, so she went back to her country. That's why I enrolled here this year with the heritage my father left me. I have no where else to go after all. I feel like it is all my fault..."
"It's not your fault. And now you also have my dorm to hang out to. You'll always be welcomed with me." I told them.
They hugged me and when we were done, we went back to my dorm room and started to do a marathon on netflix of all our favorite shows. They currently are sleeping on my twin bed right now, I hope my typing won't wake them up. They needed this rest.
Signing off.
