It all started with a stolen loaf of bread. I didn't mean to steal it but I had gone two days without food and my sister is getting weak from hunger. My sister is the real reason behind me deciding to steal the bread. I can't lose my sister. She's my one link to my mother. Beautiful mother, she left this world too soon, leaving me and Diane to survive in this cruel world.
I opened the bakery's door gently. There was bread lined up against the counter ready to be sold tomorrow.
The bread's aroma wafted into my nose and I inhaled deeply. I quicken my pace. I can't wait to see the overjoyed look on Diane's face when she sees this! I was so preoccupied with my thoughts that I didn't notice the watchdog sleeping near the bakery's door. I tripped over him and he woke up. He was big and black with the sharpest fangs I have ever saw on a dog. I gulped. The dog didn't look like anything that can be messed with. Then all hell broke loose when the dog began barking.
