Chapter One -
He is so utterly confused, he is in the right street but he just doesn’t know what direction he is supposed to be going in. Frustration is running through his head in waves and it is killing him, all he needs to do is go to the interview and he can’t be late. As he runs his hands through his slick black hair he looks up to the sky and suddenly he is close to falling to his knees in pure joy, it is the office building he was praying to find, honestly not knowing how he missed the enormous building in front of him in the first place.
His trademark smirk curls on his lips when he enters the building, all sense of worry draining from his features, he walks up to the front desk and greets the beautiful blonde woman who has her hair tied back into a tight bun, she has very skinny face with very high cheekbones. As soon as she looks from her desk, redness covers over her cheeks and she gives him a shy smile.
“May I help you sir?” The woman asks in a polite manner.
His eyes shift down to her name tag and back up to her blushing face, placing both of his hands against the marble that separates him and the receptionist, he shoots her a flirtatious smile which he thinks is highly cliché, cause he is flirting with her in a very unprofessional way. “Hello Jessica, I have an interview with Mr Stilinski.”
“What was your name, sir?”
“D. Hale.” He never really liked people calling by his first name; it irks him unless it is his family or friends.
“47th floor, the receptionist Jodie will most probably be there to greet you, just tell her the same thing you told me and she’ll show you the way.”
He nods once and turns away walking to the elevator, not really needing to say goodbye to Jasmine, Jackie, no wait it's Jessica. Oops. The elevator seems to be empty and he is glad, he hates small-enclosed places with people; actually he just didn’t like people in general. Looking down at the button board he see that from level 48 to 50 you need a key to get in, a surge of confusion rushes through him because he doesn’t understand what is so important about those 3 floors.
The elevator dings on the 47th floor and when he walks out he sees a single desk and behind it two huge doors. He assumed Jodie is a girl but from the look of this boy, who looks around 19 he thinks otherwise, he seriously looks to young to be working here, he has soft brown eyes that are magnified by black prescription glasses, there is something about the boy that appeals to Derek, but what seriously puzzles him is that he is wearing casual clothes, not business clothes like everyone else in the building is wearing, including himself.
“Name?” The boy asks not looking up from his computer screen.
“Hale.”
‘Jodie’ looks up and rolls his eyes very noticeably. “First name?”
“Derek.”
“You’re Derek? Wow okay, before you go in you have to pass a test.”
“You’re kidding right, a test?”
“Not my rules they are the bosses rules.” The kid looks really bored, and just asks Derek to come look at the screen. “Okay if you can code this design,” He shows Derek a design on a piece of paper, with all the schemes written beneath it, “in a period of 30 minutes you get to meet the boss, that’s if you’re good enough."
The boy that is challenging Derek looks at him like he is about to back out, no one could possibly code that fast and get it perfect. But he wasn’t just anyone, and he is determined to get this job.
